Decided to hit up a local brewery and chose here with my gal and best freind. Food: Exceptional. We had the Buffalo Cauliflower for an appetizer and it was awesome. We all ordered a different burger and each of couldn't stop bragging we'd ordered the best one. Because they all came out great. Service: Outstanding! Our hostess went out of her way to ensure we ordered the right beverages. She brought us a sample of each beer they made. Her personality was warm, friendly, and caring. BTW, her name is Kelly. And she was hands down one of the best servers we've had in a long time. Atmosphere: Cozy & Comfortable. This place feels like your at a mountain lodge only decked out with some of most unique dog art we'd ever seen. It provided us with visual aesthetically entertaining dog features in every direction. If that wasn't stimulating enough, they also had multiple televisions set up running several sports games to capture your attention. It all made for a very enjoyable experience.
Update!!!: "Third Times a Charm" Three visits to date since first checking this place out and BAMMM every time they consistently leave us extremely pleased we went there!
They've got excellent food without question but going out and enjoying truly yourself requires a step above the rest. Lazy Dog of Ventura's atmosphere is that of a cozy lodge like setting yet found in location you'd almost never expect. And best of all, their staff consistantly provides patrons with superior attitudes, personalized attention, and a unquestably joyful experience. Nat was our recently host server's name. And he like the others there flat knocked it out the park! BTW, he went out of his way to give us a few cool alternative places to go out and have a good time at. It was like having a hip local tour guide tell us where the local in places where located. We found Nat is also a talented Pianist that plays regularly at a place called, "The Grape." We'll definitely be checking that venue out. If his music is anything like his presence we're bound to have an equally great time. Thanks Nat!
And thanks to the management for having the insight to maintain a great team of folks for us consumers!

Read moreMy sister and I decided to stop and get a bite to eat here on our way back from Santa Barbara. We sat near the kitchen which was not bad considering we could hear everything going on. Our server Mathew was great, he was very courteous and helpful. I had never been here so I was looking forward to trying something new. We ordered the calamari for the appetizer which was delicious'. I ended up ordering Bahama chicken, it was marked as a house favorite and spicy. My sister ordered the Fish n chips meal. I have to say that the quality of both meals was very poor. My chicken was very bland, not spicy at all, it came with a sauce that was not very appealing. The fish n chips were as bad if not worse than the chicken. Good thing we ordered the the calamari, at least we can say we had something good there.
Our server did notice that my sister barely touched her food and asked if she liked it. My sister didn't say anything bad but did have an expression on her face that he picked up on and immediately apologized for the bad food. When he returned with the check he said that he wasn't going to charge us for bad food and had taken the fish off our bill. We where very surprised and thanked him for that.
After all that you may wonder why I only gave it 2 stars. 1 was for the Calamari and the other for our server Mathew. My issue was with the Manager, I think his name was Tommy or Thomas. Though we did not interact with him he still made an impression on us. I was observing him interact with the 2 tables right next to ours and was very talkative with both of them to the point that it seemed that they where related. I thought to myself ' wow, he's very friendly.. he even cleared their table. I was just curious why we didn't get the same treatment. He walked right by us more than 3 times without even acknowledging our presence. I thought this was weird and rude. I can't imagine why he would avoid us like he did maybe the other customers where family or maybe he just didn't see us or maybe because of our skin tone. We will never know. I hope Tommy gets more training from Mathew on how to treat customers. Needles to say we will not be coming back...
Read moreMy mom and I just had dinner here tonight. It was a rough day with a lot of work se we needed the rest from cooking.
Our waitresses were Cy and Tia. Cy was wonderful in answering our big question of can we swap meat out for a vegetarian option? It’s a big deal especially when all the salads contain meat and none that is just vegetarian. She said yes! Also let us know that there probably would be a price difference but in our favor. Then as she went off to her break, Tia was covering and did an awesome job! Tia is very thoughtful and detail orientated with giving us towelettes and extra napkins, checking in if we need anything, and when asking for a to go box for our leftover Cajun fries without asking she got us some SAUCE TO GO AS WELL ❤️❤️🎉💃🏻💃🏻 HUGE WIN! We appreciate it!
As for our food my mom had the beloved big veggie burger that we have loved since we ate in 2019! While we appreciate other restaurants having garden burgers or impossible meat - we LOVE THE VEGGIE MIX AND APPRECIATE IT AT LAZY DOG and WE WANT VEGGIES! It’s AWESOME TO GO TO A PLACE WHERE I CAN EAT DELICIOUS VEGETABLES
As for me I was excited for the falafel and hummus bowl! I was craving it and it helped us decide to go to Lazy dog tonight because we had different cravings. I will say I would suggest going up to 5 falafels because they are small and a bit more tabbouleh salad just ratio wise between the hummus and tatziki sauce.
Overall awesome experience and we will be back whether in the week to have a break from working so much or our sabbath.
PS still crossing my fingers for the nachos to be...
