Balboa Candy — Local services in Palm Springs

After finishing up at Lolli and Pop, we spotted Balboa Candy right across the street and had to laugh because we live in Newport and visit the Balboa Candy there all the time. We immediately wondered if it was the same owner and sure enough it is. This Palm Springs spot is their second location and it felt like a little piece of home for us.

We could not resist grabbing another bag of candy to support a favorite local shop. They had all the classics we know and love from Newport including the huge variety of house made taffy, baseball chew, and every kind of sour candy you can think of. Everything was fresh and displayed so nicely that it is impossible to walk out empty handed.

The staff here are just as friendly as the team back home and the store is spotless and fun for kids and adults alike. Whether you are visiting Palm Springs or a local with a sweet tooth this is an easy recommendation. It is the perfect spot to pick up treats for yourself or to share and it definitely made our anniversary weekend...

Can you put a price on happy childhood memories? YES!!!! This store takes me back to the few happy times of my childhood. Everything is good, everything is fresh. The cashier was super nice. Store was clean. Is it pricey? Perhaps. Please remember this store is on the main strip of downtown Palm Springs. You go or live in a tourist area, you're going to pay. I do wish they, and other stores, would give residents a discount. We pay your rent in the off season. Other touristy places do this. This place rocks!!! Starting with the rock candy!! The only "problem" with this place is there is so many choices and I want them all. Staff is extra friendly, I'd suggest that if you had a problem with the staff, it's a you problem. I've been going here for like 15 years and I've never been treated with anything less, probably bc I treat people as I want to be treated. Be kind and kindness will overwhelm you.
