Came to town heard about the place from some people since. Anyways store was kept neat, for the most part besides employees steering clear of any actual customers. I went to the check out, employee was a very polite cashier seemed to know to really enjoy her job, kept conversation going super friendly. Cashier did have to get a manager for something wrong with register and the way your manager walked up with a scowl on their face, and tone so condescending from the jump. the manager was beyond disrespectful to that cashier beyond hostile you can see the tears in the employees eyes she said she had to run to the bathroom quick and the manager with the most condescending tone stated “she just doesn’t seem to want to work I guess” cashier at the time not sure of their name did come back, truly felt sorry for her seems to be an everyday thing from her leaving in tears. And as for the manager who seems to want the tone of bulldozing bigot I suggest you find new store management. I left feeling so bad for that girl over something she couldn’t control, there is no reason. I later called back to request a different manager to speak to about the incident but I ended getting the same weirdo who likes making employees cry. Almost positive managers name was Melissa or marissa. ...
Read moreI've stopped into the Shadow Lake location a handful of times so this isn't based upon one visit.
The store is kept clean and in order, however, there really isn't a distinct difference between men's and women's sections. There is a good selection of items at prices that seem comparable to other niche stores.
The bad; the staff. I understand they are younger kids working part-time most likely, but for the love of your job, put your phones down. The few times I have been in this location, the staff are huddled around the cash register, face in their phones and chatting with each other. They are friendly when you check-out, but they don't let that stop their conversation amongst each other. I can't believe that management/ownership pays 4-5 employees to stand around on their phones and chat.
Lastly; they will not allow you to check-out without suppling an email address first. The cashier promised it wasn't for marketing , but rather for the receipt. Transaction complete and she handed me a paper receipt...I though that was odd. And then, here we are with a marketing email asking...
Read moreI never leave a review of a place unless something stood out. I thought we were welcomed into the store very nicely and the people working in the front asked multiple times if we needed help with anything which was great. But as we were walking to the back where the registers were, the manager (i assumed it was) was talking in an extremely condescending way toward her employees. I think it was about forgetting to lock the doors, which I agree is a big deal but talking like that to you employees in front of customers is not very professional and isn’t a very good look. in the future take those conversations to the back or leave it for when...
