I absolutely love this place, it has become my new go to pool as a local! I used to go to the M, but ever since they started charging locals, the +40 minute drive was less worth it when you also plan to eat and have a drink or two. At Sammy's, locals get in for FREE! That's reason alone to consider this place!! Please keep in mind that for my ratings, I want to focus on what they can actually improve on because the construction and structure is what it is. Let's dive innnnn (no diving allowedš)
Design: The design of the area is cute, it's quite colorful and playful. I actually got to meet a couple guys that worked on the construction of the place during the opening event, which was also fun. The pools themselves are quite small, one full circle (+21 pool)) and one donut shaped pool that kids can swim in. This is definitely an idle wading pool type of design, I'm normally the only one swimming around, but it's not very ...swim friendly due to the size and how many people can just be there standing doing nothing aha Some chairs are already broken though -20% of 1 āļø
Food: Oh my word everything at this place I have tried, I really enjoyed. Their menu is huge too so there is a lot to consider. So far, I have had: The wings (love, I will get them everytime, but I recommend maybe asking for extra sauce) Fruit platter, which comes with the most delicious yogurt I have ever had for dipping, my mom thought it was ranch, it was really funny Quesadilla, boyfriend approved Churros, I suppose it depends on who makes it because the first time there was not much chocolate sauce or cinnamon sugar and the second time, it was great AND had powdered sugar Fry basket, I only tried 1 fry curtesy of my chair neighbor, but it was very flavorful, I was surprised Overall, the price for food I would say is pretty normal, not amazing, but not outrageous, but the quality itself makes up for it. Especially when you take into consideration that as a local, we get in for free ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø
Drinks: So the drinks here are categorized by alcohol type in the menu, making it really easy to know what you're getting. I would say the variety is decent enough, but there is an undeniable cream liqueur HOLE in there menu for a pool drink menu. WHERE are the mudslides??? Boozy milkshakes??? Mind you, there's no ice cream at all, which is I feel they should really take advantage of. They do have slushy drinks which you can get alcoholic or virgin, which is great for my mom who normally can't drink for work. The bartenders so far have been pretty good, I have only had 1 that was a bit lack luster, but this was during the opening so they were incredibly busy. One of them even switched a mixer for me in a drink which was very nice if him! For reasons like this, I always wish that the bartenders take their own tips home, but they do tip pool here, if that is important to you all. -25% of 1 āļø
Service: Honestly, other than the bartenders, which I listed above, there is not much service beyond that. The cocktail waitresses don't do much, it seems they are only there for cabanas and private service and when I have asked they questions about things, they mostly did not have the knowledge to answer for me. -5% of 1 āļø
Atmosphere: Like I mentioned before, this place is very bright and colorful, but really is a pretty chill place to just hang out. The music is very very hit or miss. Or should I say that the DJs are hit or miss. One plays a really nice blend of throwbacks to older hits and new with seamless transitions between songs, which I think is very fitting for the theme of Sammy's Island. The others, eh. My boyfriend and I were making fun of all the random airhorns and terrible song transitions the day we went and he's not the type of person to want to come back if the music is annoying. One time, they also brought in gogo girls on stage and they twirled around pretty unimpressedly with their fans and ribbons. There was no coordination, they didn't look like they wanted to be there, they just were not fun to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst and foremost Iām a Sammy Hagar fan so this is no reflection on him but the experience we had this last weekend at the Sammy birthday pool party was terrible . I had reserved an upper bungalow because I had a group of 9 people in my party . The first terrible experience was waiting for almost 45 minutes in the line for the bungalow. This process should have been done by 2 people working the check in instead of the one guy . We finally got to our bungalow 18 and it was already very warm out . The temperature was 105 that day and we were all hungry and thirsty waiting for our hostess that finally came and served us almost an hour later. Some of us said screw it and bought separate drinks from bungalow spend minimum. The concrete was hot and the misting sprays werenāt working and the jacuzzi pools jets quit working and wouldnāt work again so the water was getting hot and not being able to circulate the water made it worse . The food we ordered and what we got was only half of what we ordered. The sliders and fruit platter along with a pitcher of Mai taiās didnāt show up yet the hostess had it on our bill . She screwed it up so bad we had one of the bartenders from down below come up and help remove what we didnāt get and straighten it out . The hostess herself was not good at all . Because it was hot out side the sun beat down on the couches in the bungalow and made it warm in there . Needless to say what we paid fell far short of expectations and Iām quite certain Iāll never reserve a bungalow again . And I can tell you the group next to us was also...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently went to the pool with a close friend for a much-needed day to relax and unwind. We donāt get out much because of work, and this was our first time spending a day at the pool together. From the start, everything felt easy and welcomingāeven without a reservation, we were able to get a comfortable poolside couch in the perfect spot with amazing views and easy access to the water.
The highlight of the day was the bartender. She gave us incredible service from beginning to end. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and very attentive. Every drink she made was well-balanced and refreshing. Her calm and caring attitude really added to the relaxing vibe of the day.
What made the experience even more special was a moment of unexpected kindness. A group of women on the next couch was celebrating a birthday, and the manager, Steve, surprised us all with a complimentary round of prosecco. That small gesture brought everyone together and made the day feel even more joyful.
Steve was amazingāhe didnāt need to call anyone or ask for help when we asked. He handled everything himself and made sure the vibe stayed positive and fun. The teamwork between him and the bartender was smooth and professional.
Overall, what started as a simple day to relax turned into one of the most memorable experiences Iāve had in a long time. The drinks, the service, the atmosphere, and the kindness we received made it truly special. Iām so thankful for the staff and how they helped create a day weāll...
