I really wish I could give Cornerstone 5 stars but I cant. Went for dinner on a Tuesday and had a wonderful experience like I was expecting from a good Steakhouse. Had the NY w/Lobster Tail & my wife had a Ribeye, all delicious with fantastic service, we enjoyed ourselves so much we made reservations for the following night requesting the same time & server. This is why you get 3 stars. I ordered the 10oz Filet w/Lobster Tail & my wife orders the NY on my recommendation. Steaks come out but NO LOBSTER TAIL, I tell the food runner I ordered a Lobster Tail with my dinner, he says nothing and disappears, our server who I tipped @ 20% the night before is NOWHERE to be seen, don't know if I'm even going to get what I ordered. I eat my Filet because NOBODY is addressing the missing Lobster Tail issue. When I'm completely finished with my Filet w/plate pushed to side of table I am then informed that my Lobster Tail will be right out..tell em I don't want it and I want my check, your manager stepped up w/o me saying anything and comped me my Filet and that was great but then the server wouldn't leave us alone when all I wanted at that point was to pay & leave. Long story short..your staff dropped the ball not only costing you $80 less than the night before but it also cost you another $130+ because we aren't coming back for a 3rd dinner like we were planning. Great food but unfortunately lacking in the service side & it wasn't just our server. When you drop the ball you need to address the situation w/your customer immediately, not leave them swinging in the breeze wondering if they are even going to get what they ordered. We may or may not be back & we stay across the street 18-20 nights per yr. One table getting bad service can cost way more in the long run that most employees ever think about. The mistakes made tonight could cost you $700-$900 a yr if we decide that Cornerstone doesn't deserve us eating there 6-9 times per yr all because of poor service...FYI our reservation were @ 6:30 so the dinning room was mostly empty. Oh I also forgot to add that my wife had to get up & go get a Pepper Grinder herself since nobody bothered to offer us fresh cracked pepper w/our salads..everyone else received pepper service...
Read moreTucked away in a corner of the casino at Gold Coast Hotel & Casino is this fabulous restaurant. We popped in for an early dinner and were amazed at what we received. A Reuben sandwich on rye bread- but it was marble rye, which was a beautiful little touch. One bite of the potato salad and I knew instantly it was house made. I rarely eat potato salad unless I make it because usually it’s a gloppy mustardy red bell pepper chunky mayonnaisey mess. Cornerstone’s was perfect- potatoes were the perfect texture; the amount of mayo was perfect; there was the perfect number of red onions and sweet pickles. Hmmm it tasted like the potato salad I make! I had the wedge salad and at first bite I instantly knew the blue cheese dressing was made in house. It was delicious, and the slightly sweet exotic bacon, crunchy little onion strings and yellow and red cherry tomatoes made this wedge extra special. I splurged on a piece of espresso cake for dessert, which was served with a garnish of sliced strawberries and whipped cream. Who doesn’t love whipped cream that’s whipped by hand?? I was looking at all the house made items on our table and was amazed- whoever’s back in Cornerstone’s kitchen loves good food, loves making good food, and loves serving good food to their patrons. I honestly don’t know when they have time to prepare all the DELICIOUS house made selections, but I can't wait to go back...
Read moreMy grandson and I have our special day on Thursday where we go play at the casino and try different restaurants. While we go to the gold coast often, we have not tried the food there to much because of a disappointmentat one of the restaurants. We'll, last Thursday we came in another door and discovered the cornerstone restaurant. We were there around 12, in time for the breakfast and lunch menu. I am glad we tried it. We were seated in what I think was the bar area. It was very comfortable and the waitress was the best. I can't remember her name but she was a beautiful black lady. She was very attentive and we couldn't have asked for better service. I am glad we were seated with her because I noticed in another area, an older waiter dancing around as if he were the entertainment for the day. I would not have enjoyed that. My grandson ordered the salmon that he said was delicious. I order the eggs, pancakes with sausage and bacon, also delicious. Another couple said the fish and chipd were delicious. Also, next time I will probably order the steak. The atmosphere was really nice, you couldn't tell you were in a casino. The cornerstone will definitely go on our list of places to...
