First off, at the door, my $150 down jacket was not acceptable so I had to pay a charge to have them keep it even though they knew the weather at the roof top lounge was in the low 40s... Not to forget that later at the lounge we saw a guy wearing a t-shirt with Las Vegas logo on it and a couple with blue jeans!!! Second, if they want to keep the club totally upscale and classy then it would make sense that they play less ghetto music that you expect to hear at South side clubs of cities were crack addicts sleeping outside!... Third, we came in while the happy hour still was going on and ordered 2 drinks but not only our bartender brought us the drinks and charged us full but only when we questioned it, he told us those drinks are not part of the happy hour!! Oh really? What a dumb happy hour then or what a crook bartender!... And on top of all that, when he set the drinks on the counter, he looks at me with this bullying face while slightly holding on to the drinks, obviously expecting a tip first, not knowing that even though we are tippers in general, we absolutely do not fall for that kind of demeaning and condescending behavior and we do not just tip because it is expected, we tip because the staff provides good service. So I ended up pulling the drink out of his hands and walk away... I and lastly, right about midnight one of the bouncers came up to us and told us this seating area was just bought, so we need to move!!!... really? I thought there is a reservation etiquette and procedure to make sure a group is held a specific area, while there was absolutely no signs in or around our seating area and plus, we came in before 10pm, meaning if we came in early to make sure we have good seats, what kind of a retard business moves you as a quest just so that they can give your seats to some other rich schmuck? It's almost like having dinner with your spouse at a restaurant and in the middle of it, they tell you you need to move because some other people have demanded this table set! Absolutely a terrible experience from the start to the end... Very ghetto and unprofessional staff, and we will never even consider that bar or even stepping in that Palms hotel for any reason... And we will make sure everyone we know at work and home, know about our experience. We will also let everyone know on our social media and every avenue we know of to let people know so that they don't have that same experience. No wonder some clubs end up shutting down after a few years. These guys really do deserve to be shut down....
Read moreThis review is specifically in regards to New Years Eve of 2023. Imagine if you will, you purchase tickets to a rooftop bar for a special event, but for whatever reason, the tickets you bought do not allow you to go outside where the actual rooftop is. On top of that the room they have you kept in has certain parts that are roped off as well. So you can't go outside, you can't sit down, there's no real dance floor, because there are couches scattered throughout the lounge area that are reserved. So all you can do is stand and drink and look outside to the other people on the actual balcony. I understand that there are pricing tiers, but why would you call it a rooftop bar, without letting people out onto the actual rooftop?! The inside was hot, stuffy, and difficult to maneuver in (especially when carrying drinks). What was more of an insult to injury, was being told we couldn't be outside to enjoy the fireworks at midnight, but we could go outside when the fireworks were over, which in my opinion is pointless. Why have us buy tickets in the first place if we can't even go outside? Securities job was to keep us from going outside, and not really monitor the people inside. My friend (female) ended up getting groped by some drunk bimbo who couldn't handle her alcohol, and kept spilling her drink (party foul), but hey as long as security doesn't let us outside, it's cool. What I would say was the most disappointing and disheartening aspect, is that it's usually traditional to toast with champagne when the clock strikes twelve, so everyone can raise their glass to a New Year. This did not happen because, NO CHAMPAGNE WAS GIVEN OUT!! Ghostbar, is a business and I get it. But to be so cheap to not even hand out glasses of champagne for your guests is simply abhorrent and cold. To anyone who took the time to read my review I'll say this; go to the Ghostbar for a regular day, but for a special...
Read moreNow as to my experience with the service HORRIBLE. I’ve never blatantly experienced racism at such a high level from a server. I’m not sure what the lady’s name was but it was an older white woman with a condescending smile that I only got after waiting twenty minutes for my presence to be acknowledged while standing DIRECTLY in front of her. Every person that came up after me she served and made eye contact with them gave them that little witch looking smile. I knew after the first ten minutes of her doing anything possible to not acknowledge my presence at the bar what the experience would be not even a look up at me standing directly in front of her… how do you look past me to people that walks up after me? And the kicker is after bringing this to her attention very nicely and respectfully SHE HAD THE ATTITUDE. If you know you’re racist and can’t not be prejudice STAY OUT OF THE SERVICE LIFE. You don’t know me I don’t know you it should be no issues between a customer and a server. Asked for a manager after she got mad because she served everyone but me and my BLACK friends and yes it’s about race we were the only black group at this place and PAYING GUEST at this hotel! She then proceeds to tell us the time that we wait for a manager she could be making our drink after watching her serve over ten other people in our faces for 20 minutes. She really wanted to argue with us so bad. We were not the only ones who noticed multiple people tried to tell her we were ahead of them but you know racism always beats common sense! I’m sure nothing will happen to her but just so you know the Palms is a very prejudice and...
