This is, by far, the best theater in Vegas. If you care about projection quality, clean screens, properly balanced and directional sound, and good pricing, you've found one of the only theaters in Vegas for you. Consistently, every time we've come here, the projection and sound have been top notch. It is shocking to say, but no Regal or Cinemark theater has fulfilled this promise to me, dirty screens and quiet audio are extremely common. Galaxy has been good to me, but they still have some screens that need some work. No such issues here, projection and sound are legitimately cared for. Also, the employees? Can we please give them a hand for ACTUALLY BEING PROJECTIONISTS? Wow! We were having issues with a spiderverse showtime in their JBX premium offering. It was right when they moved it to that theater, and the movie was slightly out of focus and being played really quietly, which, yes, I wish would never happen, but was bound to happen across the many showtimes we attended here. We told concessions and actually heard the audio get a little louder, and saw the picture sharpen a bit without being distracting, super impressed! Breaking it down, most of their premium showtime options are fantastic. The Dolby theater blew my mind, what PERFECT widescreen projection and truly excessive audio. Might want to bring earplugs to this showroom, it is fantastic and something to behold. I haven't been able to watch anything in their IMAX or DTSX showrooms, but I have peeked inside and was very impressed every time, I have no doubt that it's a solid experience. Their JBX showroom is, to be honest, a cut below Dolby, but still did not disappoint when we saw mission impossible there. Just a great screen and great audio when the projectionists get a chance to dial it in properly, I loved that experience in that showroom. Also, I have never had a poor experience in their non-premium showrooms either. The standard and THX showrooms are just amazing. Great audio and projection, as always, and NO, that is not guaranteed elsewhere. Seats. They are, to be honest, my favorite recliners in Vegas. Sure, disagree with me all you want, but I love the space in front of and behind every recliner here. It really feels a lot more personal and private when you see a movie here, unlike other locations that cram the seats closely together. That being said, it is kinda a budget offering, and I wont be the first reviewer to tell you that some of the seats are broken. It's fairly common, unfortunately, to take your perfect middle seat and find that it doesn't recline. I don't mind my seat staying upright, but I know many do. Most of the time, we can just scoot a seat or two over, but it's worth mentioning. I still prefer these seats to all other theaters in Vegas. The only gripes I have with this theater are the occasional broken seats, bagged popcorn, and lack of certain movies here. I wish they served tubs of popcorn that could be shared with small cardboard boxes, the large size is pretty disappointing and hard to share. The lack of refills is a bit disappointing too. On movie selection, this theater usually shows tons of random one-offs, which I love! Though since they're not one of the big 3 movie theater companies, they don't get certain special events like Ghibli fest. I would really, REALLY love if Brenden started showing those, I've been forced out of my perfect theater a few times now to watch Ghibli movies elsewhere. Same thing with AX Cinema Nights, if you guys started reliably showing Japanese and anime movies, it would be a game changer for me!
But yes, the 628 word wall of text is over. This is the theater you are looking for. Give it a shot, please! The graffiti on the wall is...
Read moreIt was okay. The theater is clean and isn't too busy. At least at the time of day that I visited. Prices are inflated for profit like any theater, but aren't as greedy as many of the others. Especially, for being inside of a casino. I definitely has a unique theme to it with art across all the walls.
My only stink is the one thing that is never changed. This is supposed to be the only theater in town that has a true IMAX screen. However, nothing has changed since I used to visit years ago. The screen itself is indeed true IMAX. But the movies aren't actually shown across the full screen. I saw Black Adam And as soon as the movie started (Heck, as soon as the IMAX intro video started), the image (aspect ratio) immediately struck down to look like any other not-to-size IMAX or big screen experience. I purposely went out of my way to go to this theater instead of any of the others, forfeiting any reward points or any other discounts that I had. All because if you told me this what's the better IMAX experience. But in the end, it was the same experience you'd get anywhere else.
That being said, it is still a great theater and just as good as anywhere else. I just docked two stars as you don't get what you're supposed to when it comes to the uniqueness of having a "true IMAX size screen". So if you want to watch IMAX here, only do it with the assumption that it will look the same as anywhere else. Don't expect a little extra and don't go out of your way if there are other options closer by.
Again though, just as good as any other theater. Clean. mostly affordable at the concession stand. Unless you come as a family, in which case you'll still get taken for a lot just to see a movie (which is the same or worse anywhere else).
I would instantly give it five stars, If management or owners took a stand to make the most out of the IMAX technology that is there. You can't claim to have the cities only true IMAX experience without the experience to go with...
Read moreThe ticket prices are great, but the service is horrible and confusing. They took away having people at the ticket counter, and instead replaced people with computers. So you have to use the computer to purchase or reedem your tickets. Each time I go the card swiper never works, so I have to type in my conformation number. (Which isn't a big deal, but why have a card swiper if it never works.) Then also if you're paying with cash you have to pay for your ticket(s) at the concession stand. Which can be pain especially if you're not buying snacks, because their concession stand is always under manned. Long lines and they don't have enough staff behind the stand. Today while I was there I was patiently waiting in line because I saw they were yet again under manned. Finally I was next in line and the employee behind the concession stand abruptly says he has to use the bathroom and runs off. (I get it nature calls sometimes) But instead of getting someone to cover him or directing me to another line he runs off. At this point I was annoyed. I was already waiting 10 mins in line, and then the concession stand employee rushes off. On top of that my movie was about to start, and I ended up missing a little bit of the beginning of the movie. I had to get the attention of another employee wearing a suit (I would imagine she was a supervisor.), and explain the situation to her. She quickly gets behind the counter and helps me. She was polite, but you can tell she was overwhelmed. I understand Brendan Theater is trying something new by using computers at the ticket counter, but it's obviously not a smooth transition because others have complained as well. Also maybe they should hire a few more employees, so it's not always a disaster at the concession stand. I don't know how much longer I can continue to tell myself maybe this time will be different when going to this theater. The Orleans is right next door, so I may have to start watching movies at their...
