Worst return policy ever. I went to return a “just in case item” of a floor transition strip only to find out they will not work with you without a receipt. I pulled up the order on my phone, showed them that it was within the return time of 30 days, only to have the Karen manager refuse to make any effort. Zero effort, and left me with the frustration that only a Karen can bring out in people. I was told by the cashiers that the ace reward system keeps track of orders (which it obviously does as I found the order on my phone). Everyone else, the floor manager and cashier were kind, but I will stay away from here. I try to shop locally, but this is just not worth it. Contractors, home renovators, everyone really, should stay away from such an elementary policy in a time where digital tracking is so abundant. I am not a high volume buyer but I would normally spend a couple hundred here a year, but no more. Sorry Ace, your faux “buy local” trick will no longer entice me to...
Read moreI have been a Ace Hardware customer forever. I appreciate the little guy and know these stores are a franchise and I support the little guys. I have had numerous wonderful experiences at the Strongsville, Rocky River and Shaker Hts locations, even the Parma location until today
Small business is about customer service. Well that was not the case today and I really wasn’t asking for anything. I just wanted to exchange may defective Father’s Day gift,
I was told no problem until management shrugged there shoulders and said sorry it’s over 30 days and that’s policy. I said it’s bad customer service and I will never shop there again and tell all my friends to tell there friends
The smugness of the sorry with the shoulder shrug was like a “F” you
Know what I mean, we have all seen it. I was shocked
Bottom line is this person didn’t know any better and it’s a poor reflection on ownership and management
I wouldn’t shop this store if my life...
Read moreOnly “Ron” the store GM is able to do returns. It doesn’t matter that the employees remember me, it didn’t matter I had proof of purchase via credit card. They can not look up purchases by credit cards. How many times have you ever been asked if you have the credit card you bought the merchandise on? Every-time, that’s why we use credit cards. So the staff is either incompetent or lazy. Even that I used my business card to make the purchase, showed the time and date of the purchase and the dollar amount, I was still treated like I was a criminal who had stolen the tool. So now I have to make a second trip out, to see “ron” because he is the only person who can look up the purchase. BTW did I mention the tool that was incorrectly bought was because they did not carry a glass cutting tool. So I tried to make do, it...
