Still appalled after my experience here this afternoon. I received an email from Raise this morning about an extra discount on Panera gift cards so took the bait and bought a gift card and took my mom out for a late lunch.
I am not aware of how Panera is set up and how the ordering work and what comes with what. I told my mom that and the person taking my order clearly heard that and you would think a little comment of offering me assistance or her being able to answer any question that I may have. None of that, just a look of displeasure on her face.
It got much worse as time went on. I was placing my order and apparently she could not hear part of what I said and she said.... she said.. "What?".. I was almost taken by that.. not pardon me, not, sorry can you repeat that, nothing like that.. she said "What?", with that same look of displeasure on her face.
I was not happy and if did not have the gift card I would have maybe walked out. I did not want to waste my gift card. We finished up our order and her demeanor was really a turn off, actually came across as nasty at times.
The food by that time was secondary.. I will say for about the same amount of money I could have taken my mom to O'Charleys in Strongsville and we could have each gotten a mean with two sides. My mom got a ham sandwich and side of fruit. Totally overpriced for what she got.
So then what? how could it get worse. oh it did.. I had I think $ 1.60 left on the gift card and wanted to use it up.. took my mom up to the bakery section and helped her pick something out.. cinnamon scone.. went to the register and there she was, displeased disposition.. well get this, this is classic.. she rings it up, $ 2.99.. before the gift card.. I saw the price on the register and I said, oh, the sign said $ 2.89. The issue is not the dime.. she said, "My computer says $ 2.99." I said I understand the computer said $ 2.99 but the sign says $ 2.89... She stood her ground how the price was $ 2.99. I even said, what kind of place is this, you have two different prices.. I gave her a chance to show some graciousness and courtesy and discretion and either charge me the correct price, call a manager over, check the price, or just comp it to me for all the problems.. She did none of that.
I will never go back to any Panera again.. I was already not a fan but I thought I would try it. ...

I love Panera, I just don’t love this one. Almost every time I go, there’s a major problem with my order. Once, my husband and I ordered frozen beverages that took a long time. So we asked about them, and they said they’d have them out soon. Still no beverages. Awkwardly asked again – they had no idea what I was talking about. Turns out, the cashier rang our ticket up wrong. So, they said they’d get them right out to us. Then, they were running low on ingredients, and couldn’t find what they needed… it took 20 minutes to get these drinks. Meanwhile, my food is getting cold, because I have medication I need to take before I eat, and I need a drink to swallow the pill.
Another time, I placed a mobile order to pick up in the store. The previous few experiences, some major component had been somehow forgotten or overlooked every single time, so I ordered online in the hopes that it might somehow result in a more accurate order. It said it’d be ready in 8 minutes, I was there in 6. Knowing their track record, I made a point of inquiring about my order when I showed up, just to make sure they were working on it. They had no idea what I was talking about. Some asking around, they finally found it in their system and determined it had already been put on the shelf. Except the shelf was empty, so someone else must have taken it. How, in 6 minutes, did that happen? It was a really large order! Points to them for putting my order together for me again without an argument – it took 15 minutes, though, which, again: how was it assembled and stolen in 6 minutes the first time? I’m skeptical.
It’s not just those two times. There are others. It’s easier to count the times something hasn’t gone wrong. I’m usually there in the evenings when the dining room is almost completely empty. I guess the drive through must really be hopping?
My husband and I needed something quick and healthy for dinner last week. Panera is usually our go-to for those nights. We took a beat longer to think about it than we usually do. We ended up at Piada, instead.
A few weeks ago, we ordered Panera for delivery. It got here fast, the driving was personable, and everything in the order was right. I think it came from a different location that’s further away from us, though. Maybe we should start...
Read moreI ordered a bagel in person I asked for reg cream cheese I received chives and onions I called the establishment spoke to the person who rang me up his suggestion was for me to save my bagel till the next day and bring it back because he failed to give me a receipt. I then told him that’s not going to work for me he suggested I just come up the next day and he would personally replace my order. I come the next day (I was going to come regardless because I eat the same thing everyday) and guess what he wasn’t at the register I described him to his coworkers very unique man they stared at me like they didn’t know who I could possibly be talking about. The cashier then goes to say I can’t refund you for an order based on a description of a cashier my response was I wasn’t asking for a refund I was asking if that worker was there.. long story short I ordered my order again (b/c I had to be to work didn’t have time to argue) and this time the bagel is burnt I’m very unpleased and as I stated I get the same thing everyday I’ve never had an issue until yesterday. Not to mention the drive thru was closed due to short staff so they knew who the cashier was but wouldn’t say understandable but still messed up because I spent my money and didn’t receive what I paid for.
Update: after writing my review I was offered a free pastry which I did...
