My friends and I love Mission BBQ so we decided for a birthday party this past Saturday to get its catering. After the experience we had Saturday, I’m not sure I want to get there catering/party packs again cause it was so unorganized. They put a receipt on the bag but I’m not sure they look at it. We picked up our order at the counter, for 15 people, and noticed we didn’t have our two gallons of sweet tea. They gave it away and had to go across the street to get the gallons jugs. 15 minutes later we were ready to leave. They were very nice and brought our food out to our car. So we left for our party 30 minutes away, which was even longer cause of an accident on the freeway. Then we get to the party all excited to eat the delicious Mission BBQ, when we noticed we had no buns or corn bread. Which makes it hard to eat pulled pork without a bun. We love pulled pork and brisket on buns, even more we love the corn bread. Since, we were 30 minutes away and at a party it is not like we could just leave to go back to Mission BBQ to get our buns and corn bread. We called Mission BBQ to complain and request a refund but they had to talk to another manager. They also mentioned that they forgot to give us our macaroni and cheese which we didn’t realize it yet cause we had not opened all the containers. So 30 to 60 minutes later they call us back and after some discussion we were able to get half our money back. The mangers were kind but I’m still very disappointed cause I had to leave the party to go buy buns which I already should have had if Mission BBQ read the receipt they stamped to the bag. Besides the fact that I had already paid for them in my order. Also, had to tell the birthday girl, kids, and guest their favorite sides, mac and cheese and corn bread, was not included so we cannot have it today. The quality of food was still delicious for the items we received. I’m not sure if I will have Mission BBQ catering/party pack again because of this experience. UPDATE: after this post Mission made everything right. They understood my concerns and agreed with me. I thank them for their excellent...
Read moreAfter spending the whole morning out on lake Erie getting smacked around by the waves and wind, decided it was time for some late lunch/early dinner. My father was craving BBQ and I tried to find a restaurant that could accommodate the SUV+jetski trailer. Found out he had never had mission BBQ, so we trek'ed from the Cleveland marina all the way to parmatown so he could give it a try.
Ultimately, he was quite impressed with the establishment, food choices, and the quality of the food. My dad had questions and the employee at the register answered them all with quite a lot of patience given my dad can be hard of hearing and asked the question a couple of times.
We both ordered the three meat samplers so we could try out a few different options at one time. He ordered the spare ribs, pulled pork, and brisket with a side of fries. I ordered the pulled chicken, classic sausage, and brisket. I also got potato salad and Mac and cheese as my sides.
He sampled each of the provided BBQ sauces at the table and decided on the Texas twang. I ended up mostly using the smoky mountains sauce myself.
Food was prepped quickly and the employees ensured we knew where the silverware were before we left (we dined in)
What I assumed was the manager on duty stopped by our table a couple of times to check on us (and surrounding tables) and ended up bussing my tray once I was finished.
I had been there a few times in the past and had a great experience each time. It was not overtly busy as we arrived at a slightly odd, 2'ish pm "lunch" time.
Would recommend if you are in the area and looking for actually decent BBQ in a fast...
Read moreOk this is a story of a random place we chose for a quick dinner going above and beyond our wildest expectations of good customer service. We went to Mission BBQ in Parma on a whim. You pay first, and we were somewhat unsure of what to order, but we wound up ordering a huge beef rib to share plus 2 drinks. I stepped away from the counter to get a menu, and when I returned I learned that they had just sold their last 2 beef ribs. So we both were kind of unsure what else to order. Seeing our confusion , they guy at the counter said.. You know what, just choose something else from the menu, and it's on us. He then refunded our money from the first order. So we ordered brisket and baby back ribs, which they promptly gave us for free even though they refunded our money! The food was amazingly good, by the way. So as we were about to leave after enjoying the food, one of the guys who had taken care of our order came over and said are you the two who wanted the beef ribs? We said yea. He said they just cooked more and he'll bring us some to take home. He brought us 2 orders of beef ribs for free (17.99 each on the menu). Wow! Needless to say we felt special. Then as we sat there another worker brought us a strawberry shortcake! So anyway thanks Mission, your friendly energy and desire to make us feel welcome is greatly appreciated...
