Yesterday, the youth at our church, First United Methodist in Pasadena, came out and painted anti-graffiti paint on the mural that are nonprofit commissioned to depict the history of the Once thriving African-American Business district on North fair Oaks. Was a joy to see them work so hard and have fun. I love this church. I felt very loved and supported in our housing justice work we do. People are genuine and real and totally committed to serving the community and beautiful ways. Pastor Amy really understands grace and how to love and fully accept people. I've attended this church for 59 years, and I love the mix of lifelong friends I've made here as well new members who have become good friends. The services leans toward a more progressive theology which is a good fit for so many in our community. Plenty of young families as well as many seniors. The building is gorgeous, the ministers are knowledgeable and warm. And the amazing pipe organ and stained glass windows must be seen (and heard) to be appreciated. I've always wanted to see the inside of this church so we decided to attend service here last Sunday. It is a very welcoming congregation.
