My review is likely to change after several more treatments, but so far I've experienced two treatments...
The first:
I was in the middle of a family crisis and had to come in a half hour late, I called wayy ahead to give them notice and they were ridiculously kind about it. Then I had the very best nurse technician to do my treatment. We talked the whole time and I felt like I'd made a new friend. She was honest and authentic and made me feel like a rockstar for having a high pain threshold. Turns out they start you off on a low setting, but even still it was slightly uncomfortable, but not painful, considering before that, I used to wax. They held my hand (figuratively) through the after treatment. I went home with handfuls of hydrocortisone and thorough instructions on things to avoid. My skin felt extremely dry after treatment and was instructed to moisturize moisturize moisturize. Then the hair started to "grow" out, but really it was the hair follicle being pushed out and I had a ton of hair loss, which is a win!
My second treatment was a little different:
I didn't become instant best friends with the nurse or technicians in the building. Everyone seemed a bit pretentious and maybe it was a bad day, but every client with a question that gave them a hard time received plenty of eyerolls after they walked out of the building. I had questions myself, but the receptionist only seemed half engaged. I don't take it personally, it could've been a long day. I was not given really much information on the second treatment, maybe because everything to be expected is like the first, but the treatment itself was not like the first, it was much more painful. The pain was closer to the pain of an actual wax. Bearable, but yikes! I did not feel like a rockstar, but I do think it's worth it. My underarms especially are practically hair free and this is only my second treatment. My legs have the next amount of noticable hair loss, and my bikini area has the least amount of noticable hair loss, but it is growing in really patchy, so ALL GOOD SIGNS! I just wish that the atmosphere were more consistent when I came in.
Updated review!
Third treatment:
Scheduling was effortless. I booked over the phone and having not had a treatment during all of Covid, I came back for my third session not knowing what to expect. I asked for numbing cream or pain medication because of my last experience. They don’t do either of those. They offered to ice as they go and gave me a stress ball to squeeze. It actually helped a ton. I think I got the lower setting, because it wasn’t extremely painful. The nurse that was the technician that day was an actual saint and we talked about everything under the sun. We talked through all the more painful parts of the treatment and it helped a lot. I didn’t have as much of an after effect (laser bumps/dry skin/tenderness) as the first two sessions, but this nurse was extremely diligent with providing aftercare for me. She sent me home with lots of product to apply and I think it made the biggest difference. The hair fell out after a couple of weeks and now that it’s growing back, it’s extremely patchy. I’m excited for my next session, but I’ll definitely need more than six treatments for serious results.
Fourth Treatment:
STANDING OVATION for my most recent visit to Pasadena’s Laser Away for my treatment. I believe her name was Sam and she was refreshingly transparent. She was straightforward about the pain level, and opened the conversation at the beginning of the session by giving me a five minute trial period to test the strength of the laser. I needed to ice, but it was manageable. She was so thorough. She even went in with a razor to clean up the patch of hair I missed and demonstrated a better way to get to hard to reach places. Round of applause for this nurse. The conversation was lively and distracting from the zaps. At this point, the laser hurt more than the other sessions, but it also has resulted in serious bald spots and hair thinning. The aftercare was detailed to me...
Read moreDo NOT USE THIS PLACE FOR Juvederm OR BOTOX. STILL NO MANAGEMENT HAS CALLED ME ABOUT THE FACT THAT the front DESK MADE ME COME TO SO MANY appointments approximately six within three months . All I wanted was Botox in my brow/forehead and juv for my lips and side smile lines. Main reason was upper lip that’s why I bought two viles of juvederm and the front desk made so many mistakes w product usage and a Danielle would not allow the tech to put in upper lip when it’s so noticeable barely any was used and some techs barely pressed needle for Botox in. 700 total for forehead Botox and it still wrinkles it’s a joke sadly as I had used before and was great. I have pics from last time and this time. Family and friends say that my mouth looks like nothing has been done. $ 2,000.00 and horrible results Begged the front desk to let the tech do my lips and she said no and was going to throw a whole vile out practically so I let them do some other filler in a diff place and still had some left and tech said Danielle will not let her put on my upper lip even know you do need it ! Never have I ever had a plastic surgeon make me come to so many spots for just juv in mouth and Botox on forehead usually one appt been doing this for years. This company totally reamed me of my time and money and still the imaginary manager has never called me. I am appalled that a company this big treats customer’s so poorly. Super bad. Basically stole my money and wasted my time w six appointments. Fact they threw out my juvederm makes zero sense. I have waited and called a few times after and promised management will call and emailed. Nothing. Totaly thief’s and so unprofessional inhave read all the reviews and there are so many bad ones and then followed up with totally generic good reviews you can tell most are written by staff. I even sent the mai. Doctor a email very nice and no response. I gave laser away plenty of time to make good with me before posting bad review. No response at all. Do not go here it’s a scam , take your money and give you the run around and do poor...
Read moreI've been using LaserAway, the Pasadena, CA location, for approximately 6 months now and I have seen incredible results.
I have PCOS which causes thick, course facial hair. I could legit grow a dark beard after only a week (I have light skin, this really stands out), and I constantly had a 5 o'clock shadow no matter how often I shaved. And yes, I shaved on the daily and I've had to since I hit puberty.
The office is clean and professional. I never feel in danger of catching COVID while I'm there, and I have remained healthy my entire duration of treatments. The front desk is kind and friendly, particularly Jessica who goes above and beyond by telling me about sales on laser treatments that they have.
The procedure itself feels like your face is being flicked with a small rubber band. Flinch-worthy but not super painful, unless you grow your stubble out a little too long, so I always recommend shaving at least 24 hours in advance. I've gotten a few techs by now, but I've been lucky enough to get Nurse Kelly a couple of times and she's incredibly friendly and always lets me know what areas she is working on.
I'm almost done with my laser treatments (10 for my face) and the only hair left is blonde and grey. It grows much slower and it's much easier to shave off for treatments. I can go days without shaving because it's far less obvious and doesn't show up on Zoom calls. I just started treatments on my underarms and after 1 treatment the results are ALREADY amazing, I went from needing to shave them daily to maybe once a week. And by the way, the treatment is SUPER face. I go in, get zapped for about 15-20 minutes, then I'm out again.
I can't thank them enough for this life-changing service! I can't wait to continue to get rid of this annoying hair for the...
