University Club of Pasadena — Local services in Pasadena

So this is a cute little venue in the middle of Pasadena. First of all, I would like to thank the University club of Pasadena for being here at all. Fun fact, every wedding I'm invited to. Every one of them! I have to drive some untold number of hours to go to a destination for people who I adore that I will talk to for less than 2 minutes. And then I'll spend the rest of the time saying weird stuff to my friend's family and other friends who I have never met. And I will probably end up as a footnote to the wedding stuff. Oh hey you remember that weird guy that talked about his foot fetish? Oh, Alex? That guy sure talked a lot about that mental health stuff called attachment theory? Oh yeah dude was kind of weird. I think he has issues for giving himself. That's the kind of stuff that I don't want to deal with at a wedding and whenever I have to drive more than an hour to get to a wedding which is almost every freaking time. I have to deal with it but because University club of Pasadena open their doors to my friends I did not have to do that. I only had to drive 10 minutes from Sierra Madre to find myself a nice cozy parking spot because I showed up a little bit early. And let me tell you the staff they were on point. They treated us like true guests. The mixologists or bar keeps were superb. They were snarky. They made our drinks stiff and our faces happy. The guy that looks like Gavin newsom was a delight. A real slice of a guy. The gown that served me a shot of whiskey before I sang I Believe in a thing called Love by the darkness. I'm blowing Kisses at you. So the venue is spacious. There was plenty of dance floor. There was plenty of space for people to sit through the ceremony and I just have to tell you that I loved being here. It was such a great place for my friends to have a truly wonderful and beautiful day. And I'm glad that I got to sharing it. And if this chorubic faced ginger bearded man could find such Joy. Just watching other people enjoy themselves. Imagine yourself here enjoying yourself or letting other people enjoy the things that you enjoy. Can you even imagine that? No, of course not because I'm the one with the imagination. You're the one reading this. Go watch my favorite band. The go home Becky's streaming live now. Not really. I think I made that band name up. I saw it in a bathroom once. Anyway okay...

We attended a fabulous wedding here at the University Club of Pasadena in late September. This historic club founded in 1922 made for a beautiful venue in a great location. The couple was able to personalize with photos and memorabilia set up on shelves in the breezeway inset area which was a sweet touch. The wedding ceremony took place outdoors on the Garden Patio. It was a gorgeous but warm, very sunny day and the seating on the right side could have perhaps used a sail shade of some sort as it was blindingly bright and quite warm on that side! It's a small thing as the ceremony was short, but thought I'd mention for anyone considering the space at a time of year when that's a factor.

After the ceremony, we walked into the adjacent 1922 Lounge for the cocktail hour. This was a wonderful space with an eye-catching bar area, lots of seating and high tops, as well as plenty of room to mingle. We loved the signature cocktails and the passed hors d'oeuvres were absolutely delicious and plentiful!

Onto the reception in the huge "Main Dining Room" with vaulted wood beam ceilings, chandeliers and warm hardwood flooring. Everything was configured beautifully, food was again delicious and the venue staff was excellent. I loved that you could retreat to the garden patio or other areas within the club when you needed a quiet moment!

So from a guest's point of view, the University Club of Pasadena was the perfect venue for a wedding or any event for that matter. Great location, facility,...

We got invited to this members only club for dinner as part of the whole week celebration of my wife’s birthday.

The service here was excellent and our waitress was fantastic and very friendly. She made some good recommendations for food. She even got us a complimentary banana bread with ice cream dessert for my wife’s birthday. Cudo to her! She made our evening very memorable.

The foods were good and we had a satisfying meal. We had moules frite for appetizer. The mussels were huge and fresh. The wine sauce came with this dish was delectable. It was perfect for dipping with French fries.

We ordered two main dishes, one was chicken fajita and the other was short rib lasagna. The chicken fajita was delicious and the chicken was very tender. On the other hand, the lasagna was a bit of a disappointment. The cheese on top was hard to chew and the short ribs were quite dry.

To accompany dinner, the courtyard was a perfect environment for a pleasant dinner. The evening cool air in Pasadena was right for outdoor dining.
