La Palette — Local services in Philadelphia

Love this salon! I recently moved to Philly from KC where I had the best lash girl so I was nervous about having to find another person in a new city. After doing a bit of research I found La Palette to be the best option so I booked an appointment. Scheduling the appointment was super easy and they got me in right away! The salon is very pretty and clean! Everyone who works there is very professional and extremely nice. Typically a new set of lashed took my old girl about 2 hours, she was very detailed and thorough which I appreciated. I was shocked when I was in and out of La Palette in a little over an hour but what was even more shocking is how beautiful my lashed looked. I went in not knowing what to expect because I was so used to and loved my old girl but I was definitely impressed! I've been going to La Palette now for about 5 months and I won't go anywhere else! There are 3 different ladies that do lash extensions there and they are all outstanding. They are priced reasonably and even offer membership packages which brings the price down even more. I go every week to get a fill and about every 3 weeks for a new set. However, right now I'm letting them all shed because I'm giving my natural lashes a break for a bit. Interior was beautiful, they gave me a $10 discount for gel mani and regular pedi. However... we came as a walk-in, they said they could take us, so we started with pedi. Pedi was good and still stands good. But I could see the guy didn’t know how to remove cuticles; they don’t use cuticle oils as well. Gel mani was worse.. :( i picked two colors and they didn’t turn out as the samples, I think it’s because it’s sparkling & may needed some base colored coat. With two coats of sparkle, the manager (seemed like one) was telling me it looked ok, but if I wanted they can give three coats instead. (!!! The point here is that it didn’t look ok at all.) When the guy was putting the manicure, he put so much polish on it so after the machine, he had to pile it and color back on! 😰 the ultimate reason why I don’t want to go back... it’s been a week and it started chipping already since two days ago. I hope the manager realizes the place is at good location with great interior, so use that with good nail technicians...

This place is sub-par at best- I tried out a manicure twice and both were a fail. The first one was a powder dip which was layered on in a way that was so just thick and cakey- it was clear they had no idea how to do dip powder or how to manipulate/layer the colors. I decided to give this place another shot in the event it was an isolated incident, i opted for gel the second time around and asked for cute nail art on my ring fingers (based on all the photos they had on their site) but it looked awful and something my 8 yo niece would have drawn, I can’t believe I paid extra for it. Long story short- pass on this place, there are plenty of better options out there.
