I went to the grand nails a week ago, I had a gift card, that had THEIR company name and address on it and they told me they couldn't take it because the owner was on vacation and their machine didn't work. They told me they had no way to check the value, despite it being their card and there was a website on the back. The receptionist said she checked the website and she couldn't get an amount on the card and they couldn't help me, I had to pay cash. I'm not paying cash when I have a gift card. I finally checked the website myself and low and behold, the value was on the website and showed the card had never been used. I couldn't believe how I was treated over their gift card. They repeatedly told me they couldn't reach the owner and kept telling me to take the card home and bring it back NEXT TIME! They finally took it after I showed them the website they took the gift card with the screenshot but also said THE OWNER REQUIRED MY ID AND PHONE NUMBER. It was literally seconds AFTER I showed them the website. I will never go there with actual cash if thats how they act towards THEIR OWN GIFT CARD, which had $100 on it. Shameful and disgusting business practice. I normally don't leave bad reviews but this is important information for anyone who wants to purchase a gift card for family or friends. I also still have the screenshots and recordings to my friend who purchased the...
Read moreThis was my go to nail salon for 3 almost 4 years but had the absolute worst experience a day before Mother’s Day. I brought my mom in for a pedicure when one of the new staff members claimed my mom’s toes were “too dark” for a French pedicure and she “had to” use chrome to fix it. The comment threw us off as this had never before been an issue in the past. When we were finished we asked the receptionist for the employee’s name since she seemed to be part of their newer staff, we just wanted to avoid being serviced by her in the future. She found out and stormed our way and started yelling at us in front of the rest of the customers. She accused us of not wanting to pay extra for the chrome when our intention was always to pay for the service we received (and did, we didn’t accept any discounts as that was not the purpose of us bringing this up). The owner watched as she ridiculed us in front of the place and only apologized once she was done yelling and stormed off. After 4 years and having referred 4 other family members and coworkers, all 5 of us will NEVER be back. Please do better, there are better ways to comment on people’s appearances, and yelling at a customer in front of everyone is also never the solution. Please get with Ali/Aly on how to properly treat customers before you lose...
Read moreWhen I first started coming here about a year ago for pedicures, it was great. The massages were nice and long, polish lasted a month+, the atmosphere is nice and relaxing. Then, they started to cause bleeding when trimming my cuticles, the massages were quick and weak, and the polish job was sloppy. The nail techs don’t take pride in their work- they just rush through to get to their next client. Today, she didn’t use the toe separators, so they rubbed together and smudged. When I asked her to fix it, she blamed me because she “told me to be careful”. About 2 hours later, I’m home and see some loose skin on my big toe. When I go to touch it, some polish rolls up and comes right off. Begrudgingly, I go back (and believe me, I HATE being that person), and the gal gives me a hard time again saying I must have bumped it. But I hadn’t. So she poorly attempted to repair by putting color JUST on the missing spot and top coat immediately after on only MOST of the nail. $45 pedicure plus $10 tip? Absolutely not worth it. I’ll be trying to find another...
