A couple months ago, my girlfriend’s string necklace of pearls got broken. After some looking around she went here to get them repaired. We went in, they assessed the damage, and decided the best move was to restring them, which was the correct choice. The lady helping us wrote down the count of pearls and length of the necklace on a small yellow envelope, then she took the pearls and said it would be about a month until they were finished. In a month, we came and picked them up, we should have double checked the necklace before leaving, however it was extremely noticeable within a day that the necklace was far longer than before. It was over an entire inch longer than when we gave it to them to repair. We took it back within the next two days. The lady helping us was quite rude, and was disappointed we didn’t have the “paperwork” from the initial service. We were both confused at this, as we received no paperwork. Well what she actually meant was the little yellow envelope that she scribbled some details on. Naturally we had thrown this envelope out after we had returned from the first time, why would we keep it? After her disappointment that we lost the “paperwork”, she said it was our fault that the pearls were longer, that we must have gotten the pearls wet so that it expanded over an INCH in less than 3 days. They did however agree to redo it for us. It took 8 weeks for them to fix it. When I came to pick it up, she said that I shouldn’t get the pearls wet and that the man that restrung it would “prefer not to do it again, in fact he WONT do it again”.
