Our family lived and worked in the mountain Southwest for fifteen years. During those years we were privileged to know a number of preeminent Navajo and Hopi silversmiths. We made constant efforts to learn about the Native arts, and art history, of the region. We moved to the Pittsburgh area recently, and we have been astonished to discover Four Winds Gallery. The quality of this gallery is equal to the very top galleries and even museums of Arizona and New Mexico that represent Native American artists. We have been patrons for over twenty years. In Santa Fe we found nice shops with much higher prices with lots of discounts and bargaining. Some people like that. I just never have the time or patience. Four Winds prices aren't cheap, but they are fair to the artists, because they keep coming back and their list keeps expanding. High quality isn't cheap and they have maintained it consistently over the years. It helps that John, Jody and others are so knowledgeable and willing to share it. If you're selling online, don't underestimate your online customer base. I inquired about shipping costs and was told it would be $35, but when I added it to my cart, it showed up as $70.
