Have to leave a negative review for the simple reason that either by miscommunication or by an outright lie I was given blatant misinformation. I called asking if a specific recliner that was on sale was in stock, the associate told me yes, and I then asked in no uncertain terms "if I come by and purchase it, can I take it home today?" The associate didn't skip a beat to tell me that I could. This, by the very nature of their apparent business model, was incorrect. They ship their furniture to the store on a case by case basis, and never have for-sale products available. By the time this was told to me, I had already been brought to the payment area and agreed to buy the chair... so I could either walk out or just get the chair that I already wanted to buy, so I bought it. That right there is a pretty scummy business practice.
Now that is already pretty bad, basically being (potentially) lied to, tricked into driving down to the location for a transaction that could have been placed online (luckily it was a short drive, can't imagine how I'd feel if I was 30 mins or an hour away), but when looking at the bill I am being charged $40 to pick up the chair... myself?? My options were to either pick it up myself or have it delivered for $99, there was no mention of a fee to pick the thing up. I didn't even notice until I got home as I just assumed it was part of the tax, but it turns out they not only charge you for the chair and make you wait for it, but they then make you pay you pick it up and carry it into your home. What kind of scam are they running? At this point I am considering calling the BBB as I dont feel that this location is following lawful business practices. At the very least they are skirting the line of what is legal.
TLDR: Don't buy from LaZboy in Plymouth, they will lie to you and add arbitrary fees to your purchase, then tell you if you don't like the deal, they'll still keep 30% of whatever they...
Read moreWill probably never order anything from Lazy Boy every again. For the amount of money spent on their products, I would have thought they would be more efficient, accurate, and have better communication with delays in delivery.
We ordered a recliner for our nursery on April 20th. The chair we ordered comes in cloth, but we elected to have it in leather. Doing so made it a âcustom orderâ and we were told we would get it in 6-8 weeks. After 8 weeks, and the birth of my baby, we had not heard anything from Lazy Boy. I called the store we ordered from to find out the status, and was told there was an issue with the mechanisms of the chair during the final check. It would be another 3 weeks for the chair to be delivered.
Three weeks go by, and again I hear nothing from Lazy Boy. I make a trip to the store to find out the status. I was then told the expected delivery is now July 29th. I then call the week before (July 22nd-23rd) and was again told that the expected delivery date has been pushed out to July 31st. After all is said and done, I finally received the recliner on July 26th - 14 weeks from when it was ordered. While we were reimbursed the delivery fee and a small amount off the price of the chair, I will probably never order something from Lazy Boy again. The only positive experience I had was that the Sales Manager and the Store Manager in Plymouth were phenomenal. Not only did they returned calls promptly, they also stuck to their word and got answers quickly. The only other positive experience was with the delivery staff. They were on time, efficient, professional,...
Read moreAfter purchasing a couch set for over 4,000 we are extremely unhappy. Couches have a section with no padding and you can feel the plywood structure. Called into comfort care and they sent a tech out. He said this is how the couches are made and have receive multiple complaints. He ordered new arms for one of the sectionals and same issue. He offered to rip the couch arms apart and add padding for $100 ( said this was to be a agreement between us and lazyboy). Brought in the old arm rest to the store. Sales manager agreed that the plywood should not be exposed. Left the arm rest at the store for store manager to see. A week later comfort care called to offer a 10 percent store credit and said that is how the couch is made. All we wanted was armrests that were properly covered. I canât believe that lazyboy, a company that guarantees customer satisfaction, quality and comfort thinks a couch that in a closed position has plywood that digs into your elbow is acceptable. Or that a little effort is to much to give to a customer. Comfort care rep was extremely rude, store manager never contacted about issues and technicians are unprofessional. What a...
