Very bad service and disappointing. I held my sister's bridal shower at this venue 1 month ago, gave the restaurant my feedback, and nothing was ever done to resolve my problems. I let them know that I didn't want to publicize my review to give them an opportunity to resolve it, but clearly this didn't happen. The only positive thing about this experience was that I liked the outdoor set-up and that the tent was prepared for us upon arrival. The woman and gentleman who helped set up and serve us were great, otherwise the customer service was horrible.
Unfortunately, quite a few things did not go as planned.
Before the event, I requested information and sent my questions various times and never got answers. Not only was that annoying in my planning process, but it set me back. I specifically asked about how music is played only to find out last minute that you can't play music outside. So I had to purchase a blue tooth speaker in order to do so.
I asked the desserts to be excluded from the event once I received the proposal (again, after asking for the proposal multiple times). But, I was charged $90 plus tax and gratuity for the desserts and they were served anyways. The event manager told me I would be credited for the desserts since I didn't order them, and it was been 1 month and still nothing. I called and emailed various times to follow up, but I got no response.
Also - I was told that the sangria would be available to my guests and the bowl is "so big that it could probably serve up to 50 people," but the drinks were served individually by the waitress and everyone was only given one drink. I was not asked if I wanted another drink and neither were my guests. I understand there's a law in place with putting alcohol outside around people who may be underage and you can't take alcohol to-go, but no one's ID was even checked and I was given false information. I'll repeat - no one was offered a second drink. So I paid $180+ thinking it would be up to 50 servings, when less than 20 guests got a drink. I would not have selected this option knowing this. Events like these are not cheap and I'm very...
Read moreIf you’re not a mother, and you’re sensitive on Mother’s Day, do not go there for their Mother’s Day brunch. They hand carnations out to the women that clearly have children with them and leave out the ones that weren’t fortunate enough to have kids themselves. Might as well punch me in the throat right there. Then I was sitting at the table waiting to go get food because I thought the waiter would come and ask us if we needed drinks. He did but since I was looking at my phone he ignored me and walked away. When he came back 15 minutes later he ignored me again. I then made myself known and said hi I’m here with these people. Can I get something to drink? And he said to me while you ignored me when I came the last time so that’s why you didn’t get a drink. I said OK? I’m the customer. He said yeah and you don’t have a drink yet do you? In other words threatening me to either not bring one or do something to the one he would bring. At this point I told him never mind I don’t need a drink at all thank you. Then I began to burst into tears and tell him that because I’m not a mother I’m already having a bad day and I really don’t need that kind of an attitude from him! I cannot believe what a horrible experience this was! I paid $44 a person to not even eat anything! I was so upset. Think twice before going to this place if you’re not a mother on Mother’s Day! Worst experience I’ve had in...
Read moreNot accommodating to allergies or alternative diets at all. My wife and I who have not had Dairy for years due to dietary reasons ordered the chickpea fries with no powdered cheese and no aioli sauce. We were told they did not have any other Dairy. The fries themselves are made of cheese and coated with chickpeas. Nowhere on the menu does it say this.
The tofu lettuce wraps contains many large pieces of chicken, which is definitely not OK since we told the waitress that we do not eat meat prior to ordering.
It is sad that here at the end of the year of 2016, people still do not understand alternative dietary preferences. Needless to say, we did not wait for the main course, a vegetable stuffed acorn squash. From what I have learned tonight, the chances of the squash being stuffed with meat, cheese, and other animal products is very high even though the menu does not reflect this.
Needless to say we finished our drinks and left without paying. While the management was very apologetic, that does not make up for the fact that I will have a horrible bout of diarrhea this evening. I will not be dining at Alden Park again, and highly advise everyone else to avoid this place based off of their lack of nutritional education and deceptive...
