If your going in here to get some sensitive fish species then go elsewhere⦠if your going for feeder fish thatās fine thatās about all they are good for⦠Iāve gotten plenty of easy fish from them and have had some losses but nothing crazy.. but about 2 hours ago I went in and they had some black khuli loaches Iāve been looking to add 3 more to my 75 gallon community tank (already have a gang in the tank) while the employee was netting these hard to net fish she was pretty aggressive smashing them against the glass and shoving them down into the gravel! Well as I watched in agony as she potentially killed a dozen or so of these soft bellied fish, I just put my head down and then took them payed and hurried home to get them acclimatedā¦. They didnāt even make it to my tank and I live 6 minutes from the store⦠the employee must have damaged at least a dozen swim bladders tonight and they will be digging quite a few dead fish out of that holding tank tomorrow. Pretty disgusting that a big chain store like this canāt either hire someone who is a fish lover or fish keeper.. but at least train the employees that are supposed to be in charge of this section of the store⦠they have a fish warranty but there is no way Iām going to go back in and have them kill the rest of those awesome black khuli loaches, I will just have to buy sensitive fish species from our locally owned pet store that actually care about the fish they sell. Itās worth the extra 10 bucks a fish to just go to McKeeās and wait for them to get khulis in stock. This store just...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery friendly, helpful staff. Store is always kept clean. We don't utilize their grooming services but we do buy occasional supplies for our numerous pets. After checking all their competition in the area, they are often the last resort but almost always have what we need. Most recently we were after a large bale of aspen bedding for our chinchilla. We could find small bricks of overpriced aspen at other stores, but PetSmart was the only one to have what we were after. Staff is always exceptionally friendly as well.
I've also purchased aquarium products from other PetSmart locations in the past and have always been happy. Specifically, I've had one of their Top Fin (PetSmart's in-house brand) aquarium stands for near 10 years now and it's held up very well; so well I'm planning on purchasing another of a different model here soon.
Overall, not a bad place for pet supplies, though I admittedly try to buy from ma and pa types of pet stores as often...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI typically get fish from Petco for our Salamander but, since Petco didn't quite have their natural water fish in I had to go to Petsmart. Upon entering the store it seemed normal. My friend and I waited in line for a few minutes to get the fish. The woman helping with the fish was....ODD. She was talking to the fish and ended up taking two out of the bag and replacing them because " They didn't look good". She also added something to the water in our bag, which I've never seen before! I had a good 3 hour drive home but, the fish usually have no problem, we might lose a couple. After driving for about 45 minutes ALL 30 fish we DEAD!! When we called whoever answered the phone said it wasn't the first time this had happened. No refund or anything was offered. I will not be coming back here. I'm scared for ALL the animals you have held there. If this woman is around all the animals and not just the fish, I can't imagine what...
