The other times I've been here were excellent but today was just awful we arrived and were greeted then it took a bit for us to be seated which I understand it looked busy, when we were seated at our table it was dirty but the waitress did clean up after, we ordered our drinks, we got milkshakes but received no straws or silverware our waitress Brooke still hasn't came back so Alyson helped us order our food and got us straws. 30 minutes later we finally got our food but our mozzarella sticks were burnt and had no cheese inside of them and the onion rings were also burnt so when Brooke finally came back to give us our other foods I got a grilled chicken veggie salad but instead of getting blue cheese dressing like i asked for i got ranch instead , we told her if we could get different onion rings since they were burnt and I showed her the mozzarella stick with no cheese and she took it back with her. We waited a little longer we had a guy give us our new sampler I'm guessing he was a cook but Brooke still hasn't came back and was attending to other customers who had a huge group of people and still no silverware was given to us and me getting a salad, I cant start eating without silverware and the other people around us noticed we weren't eating so we had two tables of people kindly give us silverware. Brooke still hasn't showed up to our table to ask if were ok or if we needed any condiments or water or anything but she would go to other tables and ignore us. She finally shows up to give us our check and we asked to get a to go box and so she did we didnt last long there we got up and paid for things we hardly ate. Worst SERVICE ever hard to believe we've been coming to ihop for sometime and to have the...
Read moreCame in to the Pocatello IHOP on 09/19/21 with my family around 7 pm. There was only us and 1 other table in the restaurant. The place was empty/slow. The Latina waitress with the slit in her eyebrows took 30 minutes to get us our drinks. Forgot the straws and we had to ask for silverware 3x ( couldn’t even stir our coffee) when she would check up on us, it took her a good 10 minutes to bring back what we asked for. we got pancakes with fruits and they brought us out plain pancakes, we asked for syrup when she asked if we needed anything else and brought us packets after the fact that half of our food was already eaten. That’s how long it took her to bring us syrup. I understand if they are understaffed but it was slow and we were basically the only ones in the restaurant. Our waitress was very rude, we tried joking around with her to lighten up the mood but she was not having it, afterwards the manager was very nice and asked us how everything was and helped us at checkout. We talked outside for a couple minutes and the waitress then recorded the table we sat at (with the flash on) and then proceeded to record us through the window aswell as the other waitress with short blonde hair. We were not messy, (being a prior server myself I have a tendency to stack dishes on top of another and put silverware inside of cups to help the bussers out) she didn’t thank us for coming in or asked us how we were. I’m sorry but with bad customer service you won’t get a very good tip/even a tip at all. If you don’t want to be a server, then don’t work in the service industry. Horrible service by these waitresses, I’m surprised they are...
Read moreThe service at IHOP was incredible! Seriously, I could hardly imagine having a better experience then I did at IHOP. The server helping me, Lyndi, was beyond belief. It is hard to describe what it was that made it so nice, but a few specific things I noticed.
First, when ordering she gave really good suggestions for modifications. Adding some special spice of seasoning to the specialized pancake I ordered. The recommendation ended up being really good! I feel like somehow Lyndi was able to understand what I was hoping to get and helped make sure I was going to get an order custom for my tastes. The food was really good!
Another characteristic I noticed was Lyndi would make sure I knew what was going on and what to expect. This sounds like something trivial, but thinking back I really liked this. When Lyndi left the table she would mention what she was going to do, such as going to get something or that she was going to refill our drinks. I am not sure why it helped, but I know sometimes at other restaurants sometimes I am looking around wondering where my server is and wondering if they are hiding in the back. Lyndi's remarks helped me recognize she is juggling several other customers with various needs. It is hard to describe why this was so good, but I really appreciated it.
I had such a good time on our drive through Pocatello. I can't say anything about any of the other people at IHOP, but my experience was really good. Lyndi made my day. The food was great, but best of all I left with a smile that lasted the day because of the unbelievablely...
