Where do I start and how do I end because I don't. Shall I compare my experience to a Lamb Chops song because I will never end in my going here unless it ceases to exist. My cousins and sisters and family and friends have been coming here since I first went there in Rexburg and my cousin worked there and it was called Craigos. My cousin Tia and I still come and celebrate together. We are the last of our singing group made of my sisters and my to cousins. And we celebrate everything and nothing. We celebrate happiness and, silliness, craziness, the Carlson sense of humor (if you don't know abuot it it's like a sour patch kids candy some people like it some people just give us a funny look) and awesomeness! We always get root beer and sing Oompah pah! From the musical Oliver because that's what what you sing when you drink root beer and you celebrate when you are in our family. We emphasize on the silly. And Pizza Pie Cafe is the best place by far anywhere it is to celebrate. It's a buffet! It has everything! And it's affordable! And there are points for coming and discount texts and emails. Plus there are special deals. Just ask. They'll tell you about it. And I forgot to tell you about their monster! It's not very big and actually, it's more afraid of you than you should be of it. And you'll say,"I gotcha where I want ya! And now I'm gonna eat ya!" Because this isn't just any kind of monster. This monster is called a "COOKIE MONSTER!" And I'm not talking Sesame Street. I'm talking cookkie with ice cream and whipped cream and chocolate and caramel drizzled in zigzags over the top. This cookie monster is definitely scared of you because you will eat it a up and you will leave the restaurant filling fully satisfied. And if you got that cookie monster (maybe you had to split it) you left with a little grin on your face because you got that cookie monster. And some yummy pizza, pasta, and the best...
Read moreMy first impression of this location was pretty good. I visited with some co-workers for lunch when we were here a few months ago. So while traveling through with my family we decided to stop. Let me start with my overall experience with PPC—I love the food and atmosphere so much that I used to joke that visiting all of them was on my bucket list (not sure how to visit the Arizona ones yet!). I recommend PPC to all my friends when they travel—which ones are best and which ones struggle. Ok. Now, tonight’s visit in Pocatello (Chubbuck). I understand that Friday’s are very busy, so we were prepared for that. What I wasn’t prepared for is the very poor food turn around and the poor quality delivered. I sat where I could see when new items came up. The buffet remained empty the whole visit. Rarely did new pizzas come up, and due to this the were blitzed pretty quick. I saw this once before in West Jordan. But the difference was that the owner, let me say that again, the OWNER jumped in the kitchen to get things caught up. In Poky tonight? Not an adult in sight. Nobody that looks like they are in charge. Just teenage kids. The kitchen, which is visible, is filthy. Everyone moved slow. I saw texting and flirting. Many of the plates came out dirty. Now, about those pizzas... Every single pizza came out burnt. They were also poorly prepared with some pizzas having almost no cheese and others with thick, burnt sauce. Definitely a poor outing. We sat a long time waiting for poorly prepared food. The restaurant itself is filthy tonight. Again, another sign of poor supervision and management.
Keep in mind that I say all of this as a PPC fan. I visit every one I’m close to. This fat kid knows his buffets. So, save your money and...
Read moreI honestly have heard alot about this place and was excited to try it out. The minute I walked in the door I felt as though I would regret it. I was meet by a less than enthusiastic teenager that was on his phone. He had difficulty entering the number of people that I was paying for (15) the first price he told me was well under 1/2 of what I calculated based on prices on the board. 3 attempts later I was positive I was close or even a bit overcharged but I was done telling him how to do his job and just wanted to eat. The food-- Like cold or medium temp pizza? Hmm yep neither do I. Well that's exactly what I found though despite being quite busy. There were only 3-4 types of pizza at any given time during my visit. The pizza was not overly flavorful so that added to my feeling of disappointment. The salad bar looked like a small explosion had happened and besides toppings and dressing being scattered across others there seemed to be a line of people waiting. This held true to the pasta. The pasta needed to be heated up first once selected (I was ok with this) but when I got to the sauces to choose some looked as though they had been there for days -- not super appealing. We (the adults of the group) left feeling less...
