I was so disappointed and embarrassed for taking my party of 8 to celebrate my grandsons graduation to this restaurant. I hadn’t been there in 6 yrs and I was encouraging my husband who has never been there how delicious and fun the place would be. It started off with the music so loud we couldn’t even hear ourselves talk. The staff could not hear us when we checked in with our party. You couldn’t even go to the restroom without staff screaming “have a good one” as if we were leaving. The food was awful. Our baked potatoes had the texture of watered down mash potatoes on the inside and tough skin on the outside. 2 orders of roadkill were not edible, 1 the orders were so tough and could not be chewed. After 2 attempts that was pushed to the side. Another of same order along with my 5oz salmon tasted like nothing but a mouthful of salt. Then side of shrimp, 1 shrimp was pretty good but the other few were awful. 1 the shrimps was raw on one side and barely cooked on other side. One of our guests had to keep running to the bathroom after we left. I paid $196.00. For this amazing celebration just to leave feeling so disgusted. I never got one of my drinks (alcohol free) but the waitress couldn’t hear us so we gave that up. The staff forgot or didn’t hear us when we said we were there to celebrate a huge milestone. Didn’t really matter cuz we wouldn’t even have heard them sing or acknowledge our young graduate. We still tipped the waitress really well. After leaving her a nice tip I went up to pay our tab of $196.00 In cash and the girl needed to get our change from the bar. After waiting on her for 10 minutes I gave up & left. Wasn’t going to worry about $4.00 I just wanted out of there. I use to go to this location very often but stopped 6 yrs ago after moving away. I held my youngest daughter’s graduation celebration there 6 yrs ago. It was amazing. Fun boisterous music & staff and delicious food. I don’t know if it is under new management or what not but i will never go to any there locations again after last night. 1 staff member was trying to sweep the floor at the entrance & acted annoyed there were people there. At least she tried cuz the place was dirty. It was just awful experience with absolutely...
Read moreLet me just start by saying this: Ally is a rockstar.
Me and my two other autistic friends came to eat dinner for one of my friends' birthdays. We were lucky enough to get in without a wait and the hosts were friendly and upbeat.
When we were seated our server Ally was quick to come help us. My friend had little experience with restaurants and struggled trying to make choices, but Ally was patient and happy to answer her questions.
In addition to one of my friends' special needs, two of us had specific dietary restrictions. Ally listened carefully and repeated our requests back to us, and she had us pick different sides in case she found some of them wouldn't work. In only a moment, she was back to tell us what she had worked out with the cooks so we knew what to expect and could give the final say. It was perfect.
The food was delicious and exactly to our specifications, and my friend, who rarely stepped out of her comfort zone, ended up enjoying it. Our waters (each different--one with lemon, one with ice, and one without ice) were never empty and we never had to remind anyone who got what.
Since we were celebrating a birthday, Texas Roadhouse usually does a little show and a shout for the birthday person, but Ally was thoughtful of our needs and asked if my friend just wanted the ice cream instead, which she did. When it was time to leave, Ally wished us a very personable farewell and the other staff wished us cheery goodbyes as well.
It is rare for me to leave a review so focused on the performance of one person, but I knew how difficult the three of us were going to be to deal with and Ally didn't just "deal"--she went above and beyond to make us feel accepted and cared about. She made what could have been wild and stressful, cozy and safe.
And she wasn't the only one, either! I've been to many, MANY Texas Roadhouses in my life, and I don't think I have ever met so many staff members with good attitudes in one visit ever before. It really was a great experience and one I felt deserved recognition.
Thank you, Pocatello Texas Roadhouse. I will...
Read moreI hardly have time to spend with family with work and studying. I had along day at work and I was hungry. I put in my order. I thought to myself this is taking longer than usual, I've been coming here over the years. I didn't even have to wait it wasn't that busy. I noticed the busers were smirking about something I pay attention to detail especially body language. I felt like they were laughinng at me about something. Like they knew something I didn't. A lady that was not my server came out with the tray of food and served everyone except me. They brought out everybody's food except mine. She said let me go check it looks like I forgot a plate. Then 5 minutes later my server came out and said. Oh you ordered the bbq chicken right? Yeah sorry we don't know what happened but the ticket did not show your order on it. But she remembered what I ordered? She said I can put your order in again right now or I can get it to go? My family had already started eating. I said no thanks. Then she proceeded to ask if I was sure about that? I walked out to go wait in the car. I was told to have a good night thanks for coming in at the door. I told them I wouldn't. I was not going to sit there and watch everybody eat while they finished and then have them watch me eat. They then thought it was ok to make my family pay for there food and apologize and give them a free meal card? I threw that card out the window. You can't buy family time. I can't help but think the political climate had some play in this since I am of Latino decent. If you are Latino I recommend you do not come eat here, it's not like they want us here in the first place. This has never happened to me in all the years I've been coming here. It's sad to say my family and I will never come back to this place again. I really love the food here but I am done. That's how it is not how I feel. I guess they don't know how to...
