The Kohls in Phillipsburg NJ is now officially the only store I'll shop at because of such exemplary customer service. Yesterday I had to go in to make an exchange for items I had purchased online. And somehow, in the process of the day, my jeans that were Vera Bradley and less than a year old with very limited use, split from the pockets all the way across my rear end. LOL something that I didn't realize until an elderly woman thankfully pointed out at Walmart before I wrnt to Kohls. I had to buy a new pair of shorts at Walmart LOL and then went to make my return at Kohls. I had the damaged jeans in my hand and I asked an associate if there was a customer service number that I could call because they were obviously over the 6 month mark but with such limited use, I wanted to just report that there was an issue because it was obviously just the defect in the fabric. It just kind of shredded apart and only in that 1 spot. The associate that I spoke to actually happened to be one of the supervisors. When I told her what had happened she apologized even though it was obviously not her fault. She asked if I wanted them to check if I could get another pair of pants and I told her that it had been over 6 months somi wasnt expecting anything [ive been shopping here over 15 years so i know the policies well] but she wanted to check anyway to see if there was something that they could do whether it was returning then for the current list price or giving me a merchandise credit. It took a lot go work on their end to figure it out and Kendra was so professional and went above and beyond to help me. I ended up with a new pair of jeans which was better than getting the clearance price now that jeans were last seasons model.] She was just so kind and helpfil and did far more than I honestly expected and I know that managers aren't always recognized for going above and beyond. So I made sure to leave feedback for the company. But I also wanted to leave a Google review. This particular store is further for me to drive to than the one thats 20 min more local, but it's the only place I'm going to shop at from now on. The store is always clean and well stocked and though the associates have always been peasant, this really was above and beyond and I appreciate it. Thank...
Read moreThe store itself is okay, however the one manager is rude, not helpful and very confrontational. So unprofessional. We found a record player prices for $59.99. When we got the the register it rang up as $199.99. We decided not to purchase it. We finished checkout and walked to the car. We then decided to go back inside the store to check the price again because it just didnât make sense. We went back, had the nice lady at the Amazon return desk price check it for us and look at the sign. She assured us that we would get the discounted price as marked because it was a sign error on the stores part. She instructed us to take a picture of the sign and bring it to the register. We returned the the register, showed the girl the photo and she agreed and said she would change the price. She called a manger to do the price change. She not only made me explain to her what had happened TWICE. But she also insisted I was wrong, laughed at me, and walked back herself, changed a sign and called the girl at the register to insist that I was wrong and that the price was $99.99... right đ. I will not return. I did not catch the managers name. She is taller, thin, with dark hair and a very unfriendly face. Terrible service - especially for a store that I used to work at where you are taught that the customer is always right. Disappointed and very...
Read moreKohl's isn't nearly as inexpensive as it used to be. I mainly use it for Amazon returns now which is an excellent service they provide. Saying that, they provide that service to get you into their store so you'll buy things. I attempted to purchase a pair of gloves (it's 15° today!) but the cheapest pair I found was $40! Even with the $5 cash discount they give you with your Amazon return, that's an insane amount to pay for a pair of knit gloves. They do have some good off season discounts but you have to be a "shopper" to take advantage of that which I am not. LoL. I prefer to have Amazon deliver the same product to my door for less.
12/2022 Update: Nothing much has changed for me. I still go here strictly for Amazon returns. I was in the store tonight, actually, and they gave me a 25% off coupon for my returns. I needed some sunglasses so I thought "why not?". Picked out 2 pairs and some Burt's Bees chapstick. The total came to almost $70 (these are not Gucci sunglasses, guys) and I didn't read the fine print on the coupon which says that anything under the beauty category isn't included so no discount for me!
I stand by my original review. Kohl's used to be an almost discount retailer which they no longer are. You can get a much better deal somewhere else unless the item is...
