The Fudge Shoppe — Local services in Pohatcong Township

I have normally really enjoyed the treats sold here, but this morning I had a very disturbing interaction at this store. I bought a few items last night, one being dark chocolate covered raisins. My wife pointed out after biting into one that the entire bag was actually chocolate covered almonds. Luckily, we're not allergic, but this could have been a terrible situation if we were. I decided to go to the store this morning and show someone behind the counter these photos, explaining the situation. She apologized and called a manager from the Flemington store, and while explaining the situation to him, I clearly heard him say this wasn't the first time this happened. While waiting, I saw that the entire stock of chocolate covered raisins on the shelf in the store were in fact ALL almonds.

I wanted to address the issue directly with the store, but now that I know that this was known to be an ongoing issue with seemingly zero quality control, I have no choice but to make this public to ensure that anyone with an allergy is aware that this has happened, and apparently, often.

As someone who's been in the food industry for a long time, this is quite disturbing to know that a company is willing to do something like this and not even bother double checking products to ensure that they aren't selling something incorrectly.

I've enjoyed what I've purchased from here in the past, but this is a really sad way to go...

I have been frequenting the Bagel House in the same little strip mall. I told myself one day when there is parking and I pick up Bagel House sandwiches I’m going to stop in The Fudge Shoppe. 8/18/23 well today was the day!!!! I spent $27 and opened one item and already feel zero regret about my indulgence. I chose 4 small bags of chocolates; the one I opened and test was chocolate covered peanut butter wafers! I knew immediately what a treat this was going to be when I realized this was in fact a Nabisco original peanut butter wafer and let me tell you it did not disappoint!!! The employee there helping me was Alynn. I hope that is at least close to the spelling of her name. She was patient and let me say how good it smelled in the store and answered my zillion questions I had. I can say with certainty I will return and patronize this establishment. Terrific fudge shop. My wife orders from this place all the time and is never disappointed. They always have a good selection and the staff is consistently friendly and helpful.
