Bojon’s has always been my favorite place to shop in Port Aransas. They had everything, from nice name-brand beach-wear to fun jewelry, accessories, beach toys, shells, and TONS of awesome souvenirs and beachy decorations. Then there was the 1/2 off store right next door...AMAZING deals!!! I could always find something for everyone between their two stores. We returned to Port Aransas this year expecting changes and businesses still closed or recovering. We saw Bojon’s was back but had moved into the smaller “1/2 off” store, leaving the bigger shop with the shark still closed. I was still really excited it had survived the devastation of the hurricane, but sadly, it is nothing like the old store. The new Bojon’s has been remodeled. It is very pretty but looks upscale. Merchandise is limited with only expensive clothing brands, very few souvenirs and definitely no sale items. It’s more like a boutique than a surf/souvenir shop. It took me about 5 minutes of looking to be ready to leave without a purchase. I know they must have been hit hard and sustained terrible losses, but I sure hope they rethink this new concept and reopen the store next door. I just don’t think this new approach is going to work. The line to check out at the old location would be dozens of people deep, but here, I didn’t see a single person in line. There just isn’t enough merchandise like before, and what there is, isn’t affordable. I would have been happy to buy something, but there was nothing appealing to me or affordable. I hope they get back to their roots sooner or later, because this new approach is not going to be drawing in the crowds like the old place. Come...
Read moreThe two owners of this shop are disgusting. They both lack customer service skills and should feel grateful that they still own a business. Don't use their dressing room unless you enjoy bumping into all the Amazon shipping boxes where they purchase their products with a huge up-charge. When I questioned why I was put into their storage closet to try on clothes instead of a real dressing room, Gena's response was Don't come back to our store if you don't like it. Gena then preceeded to rip the items my 8 year old had in her hand that she was planning on purchasing and continued to shout at us to get out of the store, which left my daughter in tears. When I asked why she would do that to a child, the response was because I can have any type of energy I want to as the owner of the store. I hope you both are ashamed of yourself, and if you're not, ...
Read moreOne star is to much. Racial profiling at its finest! My boys were in line to buy two snorkels & a pair of earrings. Checkout ladies asked my boys for ID , they had to come get me as I left them to pay because my twin boys were getting antsy. I went in and a gentleman told me they did the same to him but they didn't card a blue eyed blonde girl that was right in front of him the day before. As I waited to speak to one of the cashier's, I asked the other worker why they needed id for snorkels, her response was she needed to make sure my card was mine. (Instantly infused with anger) mind you this was all told to me in a very rude and disgusting matter. As I was waiting in line two white females used their card as well and didn't get carded. I was infuriated to say the least. I will never go...
