Bobz Castle — Local services in Port Isabel

tldr: overpriced and I was overcharged. Be weary of stores that have large print signage that says “NO REFUNDS OR RETURNS” at the door. Some stuff is reasonably priced, lots of stuff is tourism price gouging, not uncommon for beach towns. Lots of signage posted that “shell wind chimes are 50% off” I grab an item off the shelf that is hanging directly underneath the sign. At checkout, the cashier and the woman wrapping items tell me that this item is not a wind chime. I tell them that this item was hanging on the shelf with all the other wind chimes directly underneath the wind chime sign. What else would you call a bunch of shells hanging from a rope? What is this item for, if not chiming in the wind? I was charged full price. Whatever I am a big girl, I have ten extra dollars. Upon further examination, all of the shells are attached to the rope by the plastic tags that you would see holding a price tag to an item of clothing. Not worth the price that I SHOULD HAVE ORIGINALLY BEEN CHARGED. Will not be returning...

I don’t leave a lot of reviews but for this store I’ll make an exception. To the point: This store has bad customer service with a lot of overpriced items. When my wife, daughter, and I first walked in, we thought the store layout was pretty cool. We made our way around and so did the lady that was working there. She seemed to follow us around the store. We were there for only 10 minutes on a Saturday during the summer and it was only 5:20pm. The same lady insisted on telling us that they were closing at that moment, although their store hours say they close at 6pm. We left the items we planned to purchase for our daughter and decided to take our business somewhere that knew how to respect their customers. Ok all! Having traveled coast to coast beaches and having visited many tourists shops this is a find! If you're looking for something more than a t-shirt or stuff that all the other shops over charge you for (and you can get at Wal-Mart or HEB for way less)-- Go here! All the fun shell creations or every type of sea creature and vast array of types of shells will blow your mind! Fun,fun,fun fest for your eyes! They also have the best kept hermit crab deal and selection - with clean and humanely cared for hermit crab community. The staff is extremely helpful and kind.
