Quik Stop — Local services in Port Isabel

I went in to buy a surf rod and all that I needed to fish from the beach, I intended to spend $500 to $700 in gear, I told the kid that I knew nothing about surf fishing but was experienced fly fishing in Colorado. He helped me pick out a 9' rod and 20lb braded line to put on the rod. I also picked out some weights, hooks, rod holders and swivels, I continued to shop and put stuff on the counter. The kid asked that I pay before finishing shopping. He said that is the way he does it. I explained that I had more to purchase and would pay him when I was finished shopping. He insisted that I pay and that I could continue to shop and they would just ring me up again for another transaction after I paid. I paid him and told him I guess we are done because I didn't want to do a second transaction. He ran my credit card and finalized the transaction. I left and went to Walmart and purchased another $350 in fishing gear from Walmart. Im not sure why he did not want me to purchase from them?? I would have gladly purchased everything from the Quick Stop. I'm in Texas for 4 months and would have purchased everything from a local shop vs a large chain. I hope the owner...

This is not your ordinary bait shop! They have anything and everything you might need or think of for fishing! They also have food and souvenirs. They have an awesome selection of caps, hats, visors, t-shirts, and shirts designed specifically for fishing! Used to be a good place to buy bait. Now it's a great place to get ripped off with BABY SHRIMP they forcibly make you purchase because "once they're in your bucket, they can't return them because of contaminants".
