I have worked out on my own for most of my adult life, however, when we moved to South TX, I felt like I needed a change so decided to check out Rip Current upon the recommendation of a friend. It was just the boost I needed! Art is an excellent coach! He knows how to motivate and keep us on task and also pays attention to make sure our form is correct. He suggests alternative moves if you have pain or injuries. Even though he is a former Marine Drill Sargent, he is friendly and fun -not stern, like I expected, but still serious about helping us get to our full potential. I can tell my stamina and muscle tone has increased since joining. He has a variety of workouts and I am never bored -they are super fun and challenging. Read moreFunctional fitness gym! Started here 11 months ago after my last gym closed. Art, the owner and trainer, gives great feedback and options to fit your fitness level and strengths/weaknesses. Art also gave me modified workouts while I recovered (4 wks - no weight bearing on arm) from a recent surgery, and he is open to incorporating other exercises you may miss from past gyms. After he took over ownership in the Spring, he added 24hr access (great if you cannot make the designated class times).
