This was my first time ever going in. There was a young black woman who greeted me and was so incredibly sweet, she was amazing. I found my shopping experience pleasant up until check out. I was told it’s self checkout and I thought ‘Great! I don’t have to talk with anyone.’ I started scanning my things and a young blonde woman came up and tried to start bagging my items for me and I told her ‘It’s ok, I’m just scanning them first to see what the total comes to before I bag.’ I didn’t want to be rushed and the store was mostly empty. She rolled her eyes and with a ghastly attitude said ‘That’s not how this store works, you have to come get an employee to price check items. Now I HAVE to void everything and this store is strict about voiding items and doing this for you will get me in really big trouble.’ I told her that it was really fine and that this was my first visit here, I didn’t know any of this but either way it didn’t matter as I was purchasing the items. She proceeded to void the basket and then start price checking items. I told her another time that I was intending to purchase these items and really did NOT need her to price check them. She proceeded to scoff and say ‘I wish you would have said that before.’ With such a snappy and rude attitude. She started scanning the items for me, not letting me do it myself or leaving me alone. I felt uncomfortable because of her I told her to forget about it and left the store without purchasing anything. I loved the store up until I met that floor representative. She ruined my first experience there. As a manager of two shops myself, I would never stand for one of my employees speaking to customers like that and trying to make them feel uncomfortable with their rude and unneeded attitude problems. Pop shelf is probably a great store but should think greatly about who they hire. Who talks to customers can greatly impact their shopping experiences and drive customers away. It’s not the shops fault and I’m sure the lady was having a poor day, but it’s no excuse to have poor communication skills and make a customer uncomfortable because you...
Read moreLove this place for their stationery! They have an excellent section of pens, markers and pencils where you can test them all out and buy individually. I found a pilot pen that I have been wanting for ages and was about to order from japan but they had it! They also had mildliners, frixion pens and highlighters, le pens, sarasas, you get the picture. Lots of fun colors and interesting pieces e.g., they had disposable fountain pens with bright purple ink. They also stock many varieties of paper just beneath the writing implements - I didn't notice all of it until I was leaving but I will be sure to check it out next time!
They also have a lot of candies and snacks that are hard to find, (they had chili mango "jerky") and a lot of poppi flavors that you can buy individually if that is your thing and you want to try out a...
Read moreNeat store but we asked for assistance and the man who seemed to be the manager was unassitive and obnoxiously rude.
If you're going to be in the retail business, the leadership should at least have some decent people skills.
My wife decided to buy an item and we didn't know it was self-checkout. A young girl came up to assist us and I thanked her for being so nice and helpful.
That same manager/ thug mocked me by repeating my praise for thanking her and repeated exactly what I said by telling her that she had a great attitude?!?!?
Won't be back to such an...
