Louie's Tux Shop — Local services in Portage

A tuxedo shop caters to one's most important day. There are no do overs for a prom or wedding – use someone who cares enough to offer you the courtesy and service you deserve. THIS IS NOT THE PORTAGE STORE. WORST SERVICE EVER! Would recommend you think twice about using their service and then go somewhere else. We called (Portage, IN store) and asked (Missy – store manager) if we could buy our grandson’s tux for the wedding and we were told no, we could only rent it. Took him in for the measurements and 2 weeks later heard that the other child in the wedding was able to buy his tux (at ½ the cost of the rental). We called the Portage store and talked to Curtis and were told that we could buy the tux. Told Curtis that we just bought our grandson a size 7 for another wedding, but Curtis insisted that Missy measured him at a size 6. We ordered the 6 on their recommendation, they were to call when it came in. It sat in the shop for over a week – no one called and let us know it was in. Worst of all IT DID NOT FIT and the wedding was 2 weeks away. Three more days were wasted getting in a suit in the WRONG COLOR the next size up – just to check the size???? The next size up (7) did fit with minor alterations to the pants. I was told the right suit MIGHT come in the day before the wedding. At this point I called corporate and was assured that the right suit would be in the day before the wedding, before the store opened. My plan was to be at the store that morning when they opened. The suit came in early and arrived on Wednesday – do you think the store manager, Missy, called and let me know – absolutely not - she sent a text to the bride. My husband found out the suit was there when he went to pick up his tux. I ONLY GAVE 1 STAR BECAUSE YOU CAN'T POST...

Ordered my son's tux for his prom 2024. Picked it up the day prior to the event. We opened it only to find his BLACK shirt was dirty with what looked to be girls foundation makeup smeared across the front collar area. It was a BIG area. It stunk like a mix between mens cologne and girls perfume....prom was in a couple hours and we were supposed to be going to do pictures. I called and they said they couldn't do anything because no black shirts left... offered have ME drive 45 mins to merrillville site to MAYBE exchange if they had one but no time to do any of that before pics and prom. So I cleaned it best I could with a damp rag as they directed and was told they'd make it right seeing I paid over $200 for this one night. They DID NOT REFUND ANY MONEY AT ALL!!! 1 would recommend literally ANY other shop Next time,,, I'll open it IN SHOP when picking up. NOT that it'd be rented here again!!! Also young girls at counter didn't seem to know much from the get go, at least they were polite I guess while...

The manager and the guys / girls working the shop seemed bothered every time we went in(3 times). On the third visit to order my nephew’s tux (he lives out of town) I looked at his info and they put black suspenders with grey tuxes, has I know this was an add on of $7 per tux I would of done that in the first place. I assumed the tux would come with grey, black or white are the standard but this was never told to me. When we went for pickup , the grooms shoes were too small. The father of the brides shoes were too big. When we went to get my nephews tux, nothing fit. His measurements were done at a tux shop in AZ and they told me other tux shops purposely put the wrong measurements down because they are not getting the sell. Maybe but with the attitude and lack of attention to details from our other visits, not so sure. Would 100% not recommend...
