If it was possible to give zero stars, I absolutely would! I have been coming here since I was 16 years old in high school, today I experienced something I never thought would ever happen to me, especially inside of a chipotle store & even more, the disrespect from the staff! Today I was standing in front of a man, & I had my one year old baby in my arms, the man behind me kept talking mess behind me about how I had my baby inside the store with “COVID.” I take the virus very serious, as a mother who has a baby who can’t speak, I try my best to keep him away from harm in anyway, however the man behind us today was on a mission! I finally couldn’t handle the bad mouthing anymore and simply turned around & told him calmly however stern, that if it wasn’t his baby don’t speak on it because it wasn’t his business & there was no sigh on the door that said babies couldn’t come in! He however stepped a step or two closer to say some more hateful things that he didn’t want the rest of the lobby to judge him for, & as a young single mother I finally started defending nor just my child, but me to! A few moments later, the man with a whole lot of opinions insisted on getting the last word, but disrespect doesn’t sit calmly with me, especially when I was in line in a restaurant I have came to faithfully since they built it & wasn’t doing anything the next person hasn’t done. However, the workers could hear the argument getting more and more serious & instead of stepping in and handling it, they let it get to the point that a different costumer was getting irritated with the argument as well, & also decided to say some more hateful things to me. I’m sitting here today questioning myself as a mother and person & I can’t understand what I even did to anybody. I am young. I have a child. I have no family. I can’t leave my baby in a car without me & there was no drive thru! Finally when a worker did decide to come out, after the argument already hit a 12/10.. all she had to say about the situation was “sorry” to the man “for what happened” & “she had no mask on” even tho I had the mask in my possession, I just took it off because I was about to eat for one, & for two my baby gets nervous when I put it on! and other people also had NO mask, but somehow a man who spoke down on a stranger for having her innocent baby who wasn’t even making a sound at the time, looking at my one year old child, shaking his head in disgust at me, because I just got off and wanted to have take out & wanted to eat at my favorite place! But wait! That’s not it. When I called the store, a girl named “Alyssa” answered. She asked for my name and I said “no” simply because I was still in shock of how they handled the situation at the restaurant, & I just wanted to speak to a manager. So when the manager came to the phone I said “I just wanna start by saying I did have my mask, it just wasn’t on” & before I could finish she interrupted me. However, I TRIED to continue talking so I could explain what just happened and apologize for it, but instead she IGNORANTLY SCREAMED through the phone “well your not gonna talk to me like that BYEEEEE” & supposedly this was a manager, this was who Alyssa handed the phone to when I asked to speak to one! I called back again twice, and they answered and clicked the phone on me twice, I can’t make it up! I’m truly discouraged and embarrassed for the way I let that man get the best of me, but I feel like if chipotle is going to let thier costumers harass the other costumers even when we are all contributing, til the point they finally snap, then come out & side with someone who couldn’t even have the decency to keep their negative thoughts to himself, making comments and saying things about me like how that man did, then just put a sigh up saying “no kids” because after today I am questioning myself all because I wanted steak tacos! Yes I did get really mean at the end. I got loud & I defended myself and my child & I wish the staff could’ve did that for us too! I’ll be back, just not to...
Read moreI normally visit my Chipotle restaurant in Merrilliville In. I was in the Portage area and was happy to find this one on my way home. I think it’s store # 10264.
From the food to the attitudes of the employees it was the absolute worst meal I’ve ever had. I should have saved my $17.82.
I ordered a burrito barbacoa, chips w salsa and a Coke Zero.
When preparing the burrito, I asked if there was any fresh meat coming up. The meat there was cold and dry. The server ( who wasn’t MY server) said “it would be a long time before any fresh meat comes up”. What’s a long time I thought. ..
She BARELY put meat on my burrito. When I asked if I could please have a bit more I was told “it’ll be extra”. I asked her how much extra. She said “$3 to $5 extra”. What?!?!? Which one is it?!!!? I said nothing until I was ready to check out that’s when I asked her…. “How much meat and how much is “extra”???” She said it would be a “serving”. What is that?!? The chips were stale and the salsa was dry. Only good thing was the Coke Zero.
Also, I started to walk out when I saw how messy the work stations were. It was food everywhere. Lots of laughing and talking, no cleaning the work area.
The shortness of the answers along with a bit of a smirk was had during my entire visit. Was it because I was black??? I hope not. I’ll never return to this restaurant again. I’ll continue to go to my fav one in Merrilliville, Indiana.
I hope things get better for those who don’t or can’t write about their experiences at this Chipotle restaurant.
Sincerely, Suzette L Hayes

Read moreStaff is not friendly or customer service trained at all. Not friendly in line while ordering plus… I ordered chips and guac and I had a coupon thru the app for free guac/queso with any purchase. Tried to scan and it was told “purchase requirement not met” so I asked “why? I got guac”and cashier had attitude instantly so I dropped it and still paid regular price. Not a biggie. Paid my bill and our family went to eat inside the restaurant and we unpack our bag.. No Guac! but was charged for it on our receipt. So I got back to the cashier and she said “we’ll check your bag” as if I was lying about not getting it. After showing our meals on the table sans the guacamole, I then waited 5+ mins until they finally would give me the side of guacamole. They all just stand around looking at you. First time visiting this location as we were in the area shopping but would not return. Our normal location is the same treatment as well so I’m starting to think it’s all Chipotle’s in...
