Art Hive — Local services in Prescott

I absolutely ADORE this easy access point to the local art scene. I am an artist myself, with a handful of family members and friends who are artists as well, and I take them here every chance that I get. It is infamously inspiring, and we have spent hours speaking with artists and admiring the exhibits.

My only quip is with the new displays of AI generated imagery— especially when it is disguised as digital art before admitting to being generated. The blurb beneath the artist goes on about creating and manipulating digital artwork, and it is only towards the end of the paragraph that ‘generative AI’ is officially mentioned.

It goes without saying that AI imagery is not artwork. A prompt is put into a computer and the computer creates the image through stolen mediums, all at great detriment to the environment.

AI generated imagery has no place in a hallway of true artists, and it was truly disheartening to see posted...

The Hive a beautiful, big old building that houses about 20 or so artists in residence spaces. Everything from your traditional oil painting to clothing and doll making. There's even an event coming up where they're marrying experiential technology and art together . July 25th My husband and I attended an artist talk by Lisa Grist who makes very interesting folk dolls. We had a wonderful time and met some great folks. Do yourself a favor and just pop in or go to one of their monthly installations. You'll be glad you did. Art, poetry music and theater is where we connect and reflect to authenticity and self-expression. A community like the Hive is so important. This special place is a beautiful, collection eclectic, diverse artists and their studios where there is a buzz of art activity all the time! Whether it’s an incredible unique and inspiring , perfectly curated show complete with artist talks or a collaboration with the community for youth art and music or the always popular Fourth Friday openings-the Art Hive is my favorite place to feel connected to this wonderful community of artists we are so lucky to be around here in Prescott.
