I've gone here twice. The first time, the restaurant was pretty busy. It was slow, but friendly and good service. Food was ok. The second time, tonight, was awful. First, none of the soft drinks are listed in the menu and the waitress didn't know everything they had, so I ordered water, no lemon. She brought it with lemon. The waitress then brought out the entrees before either the appetizer and soup, (so we ended up canceling both... who wants to eat a cold bowl of soup and appitizer AFTER a meal??) and then didn't bother to check up on us for the entirety of the meal. The garlic on the garlic fries was ice cold, which was highly unpleasant. The chili relleno was so overcooked and hard, I couldn't chew it. I have never seen a chili relleno prepared this way, and I can see why. It was so unbelievably crunchy and grisly. The presentation was sloppy. Everything was just kind of plopped on the plate in a very careless fashion. I sat there waiting for the waitress to return, which didn't happen for at least 20 minutes. My companion had nearly finished his meal by the time she bothered to check on us. It was too late to order anything, so I sent back my inedible meal and left.
I would think it would be common sense to bring out the appitizer and soup BEFORE giving the cooks the main entrées to prep, but apparently, with this waitress, it was too complicated to do so.
So, doubly bad experience tonight. Service and food...
Read moreMove over Gary, Sarah (with an H!) is far and away the best server at the Office Cantina. She handled our group of 8 with ease, providing friendly and quick service, always ensuring we weren’t running low on drinks and accoutrements.
Our corner booth was a bit tight for 7 1/2 full grown adults, but the experience was excellent thanks to Sarah (with an H!). Our food came out much quicker than expected, so hats off to the back of house for making that happen.
I enjoyed my Arizona Burrito, prepared “chimichanga style,” even though it didn’t come with the traditional sour cream and guacamole. The roasted red peppers were a pleasant addition, but I cannot say this is anything close to a traditional chimichanga. As such, it does not qualify for the universal 13 point scale of chimichanga deliciousness. We’ll have to settle for a paltry 10 point scale, where the Office’s chimi ranks a decent 6. I love seeing twists on an established classic, but that twist needs to bring something new and exciting to the table to make up for the deviation, and sadly, the Office couldn’t quite bridge that gap.
Still, the night unfolded in a very pleasant manner. Laughs were had, drinks were drunk, food was masticated, and Sarah (with an H!) made the evening remarkably pleasant. Move over, Gary. Sarah is the...
Read moreA friend and I had an early dinner there during the week there were only 3 other people in there, I had never been before. They gave us menus and the server was very friendly. I ordered the Bbq pork wrap it was a decent price for the amount of meat they gave and was very filling. However after we ordered we found that they had a happy hour menus which no one told us about with several cheaper items that we would have ordered had we known about it.
Update* ** I went back again cause I enjoyed the bbq pork wrap, so I ordered it again. I ordered it again I ordered it without cheese. However when it came out it had lots of cheese. So I sent it back, when the server returned with it, it had been reduced to over half the size of when they brought, it out the first time. It was like instead of making a new one they just opened it up and scraped all the cheese out and any meat touching it and wrapped it back up, when they brought it back out it was tinny and each bite had as much tortilla as meat, I was very disappointed by this and probably will not be going back. Also my friend who came with me, ordered an Ice tea they offered him a fruit ice tea, he thought he would try out the strawberry one, just a heads up its not fruit its more a fruit flavored syrup they add into the tea and its...
