I was SHOCKED at how me and my family were treated this last Saturday. For my son's 13th birthday all he wanted was to go to an escape room and dinner. After looking in Phx I decided to try the local place at the mall for our first escape room experience... not my best moment but I booked on the wrong Saturday. Not knowing this my family and I show up, 10 minutes late because we couldn't find the location, and the girl at the front from the beginning was seriously lacking people skills, tries to look up the reservation and tells us how we couldn't have booked that room because someone was in there. So I asked her to please look my reservation by name and then found out that I made the reservation on the wrong date. I then asked if she could please take the reservation and adjust it so we could still do a room for that night and cancel the wrong date. It was clear that she was not wanting to help, said well I guess but let me call my boss to make sure it would be ok. Ok... So if there are 3 rooms and ONE is taken then why would it be a problem to give us the room for the night. After waiting she comes out and says ya it's fine. That we will get the ringmaster room. Tells us to watch a video and sign a waver... done. As we're watching the video my husband asked to use the bathroom real quick to take our daughter. She says " I'd really like to get started now so.." It look a lot of patience to not just walk out... but for my son I tried responding nice telling her he would be fast and reminded her kids will be kids. We stood for a minute and told us that we should go in and she will show my husband and daughter where to go when done, she shows us into the room reads this story so fast that I honestly didn't catch half of it and my husband walks in. She didn't stop bother to let him read it nothing. AS IM ASKING HER A QUESTION SHE CLOSES THE DOOR. I sat down in frustration, my family starts on the room we had a great time honestly once we were doing it. Almost made it through, still had two clues. We tried paying for 10 minutes and were told no... ok I get it it was a mess of a situation but for the experience she could have had SOME customer service. Even Saud happy birthday. I had to ask what we missed and how close we were.. didn't offer to take our photo. It just would be nice when spending that kind of money to do something to really get to enjoy it. Super sad. I get the staff member looked young she probably just wanted to get off but it was 840 when we walked out of the business so I get it we kept her a little late but for 140...
Read moreI would not recommend this escape room to others.
Because of its location inside a mall, it has faux walls separating the rooms—making the rooms incredibly small and allowing for NO sound proofing between rooms and other teams. For the first 30 minutes of my experience at this escape room, the group on the other side of the wall was beyond rowdy, from screaming profanities to knocking things over, it was nearly impossible to even hear the rest of my team in our room.
My team had issues with two separate locks. One being faulty (as described by the Game Master) and the other being incredibly unuser friendly. Both of these issues cost us 10+ minutes despite us having the correct answers for both.
The puzzles were very basic so it would be good for beginners but the room decor and immersion was minimal and would likely put beginners “off” for wanting to try other rooms.
One of the direction puzzles in particular was incredibly subjective for the directions.
Despite the staff being wonderful, there was only one Game Master for three rooms so we spent much time trying to get her attention while she helped other rooms check in and out. We spent probably five minutes trying to wave her down on the cameras but she was busy with other clients. This was totally understandable on her part, but clearly there should be more than one Game Master available for multiple running rooms.
Despite all these issues with the location and game itself, the Game Master was kind and helpful and did her best to make our experience better. None of the issues were with her. She was lovely and did add time to account for the broken locks and obnoxious team next door. The issues simply come down to puzzle and location quality as well as a lack...
Read moreMy family and I have done multiple escape rooms and absolutely love to play them. Our experience with this business was awful. First of all, we asked if our 4 and 7 year old could sit in the room with us so we could all play. They would have zero interest in the game. we were told we had no choice but to pay the $30 each for them as well. My little brother really wanted to try the escape room, so a couple of our party had to sit out to watch the kids. Bummer and ridiculous, but we made it work. During our experience in the room, we got stuck near the end of our time and were struggling with a lock. Finally a clue was given to us to which was what the exact code for the lock should have been. The lock did not open after 10-15 tries and re-reading the instructions. When time expired, we told the employee that the lock was not working. Her response was “we just had someone in here and the lock works because they got it”. She tells us sorry but your time expired and basically showed us the door. There is absolute zero customer service. It was actually incredible how bad it was and we will not be returning to it. Save your more and find a better one with better...
