UPDATE Oct 2017: the website has been revamped and is much more accessible and easier to navigate. Although they still don't offer much of a variety of classes. They have a new fitness room that is nice. But it still seems as if their main focus is on hiring out the rooms for big group events. For that purpose, it is a very nice venue. Original review: I've been in community centers of smaller towns in Utah that were so much better than this one. This community center provides very little in the way of permanent, ongoing, daily recreation opportunities that include the entire community, and they lack any senior activities, except bridge and a very short lunch hour service. Even West Richland has a much better Senior Center and variety of activities, than Richland. Kennewick and Pasco have even better Senior services. As for community education classes, Richland doesn't even publish a comprehensive guide of courses like Kennewick does, and the classes offered fall mostly under exercise, fitness, and sports; there aren't many options in crafting, cooking, computer skills, science, technology, language, arts, and the trade skills in their class offerings. The Richland community center's website, which is where people are directed to go for class information is abysmal, poorly organized and difficult to navigate, but the only other option is to make a trip to the center, and stand for an hour in the foyer, trying to look over all the individual flyers loaded haphazardly in holders on the entrance wall. It's sad that So much money was obviously spent on this beautiful building and picturesque surroundings, yet it just sits there, underutilized and poorly managed-- it's full potential unrecognised and untapped. Such a waste. Maybe the city manager and council could take a trip to Utah to visit some of their community recreation centers for ideas on how to "do it right"-- to create a community asset that truly meets the needs of all of Richland's residents, rather than just a...

Read moreWe're paying to use the space. It felt like the staff could be kinder in relation to the amount of money being paid to use their conference room. However, I'm new to this side of business in renting rooms for private use. Perhaps, this is normal procedure. We should be grateful we have the space and not have too high of expectation outside of using the room for what we...
