Extremely let down by this Gallery. As a former volunteer, my hopes were to collaborate with Gallery at the Park to rent a space to facilitate a viewing of art for auction. Unfortunately I was not able to secure the space that Gallery had confirmed was available by request. It turns out that the volunteer I spoke with did not follow up with the board of directors at the gallery. I was told that the request would be raised to the board last Thursday 9/08, and I would receive confirmation by Friday, 9/09 (I requested the space last Wednesday 9/07).
I did not receive any communication over the weekend from Gallery At The Park, so I decided to forward the request again on 9/11 (an entire 48hrs after an answer was promised) in which I received a response today, 9/11, denying my request: “ Hi Evan, I apologize on behalf of the Gallery, as it seems our volunteer did not connect with you. We have a Gallery load-in this week and are unable to facilitate your room request. I deeply apologize for any inconvenience this late notice has caused you.” Please. No you are not.
I would recommend to just make an appointment to secure a meeting room at the library and save yourself the stress, disappointment and panic that accompanied my experience attempting to conduct professional business with this organization.
I made sure to provide deadlines within both my vocal and written request to rent, along with confirmed itinerary details from the auctioneer to signify that this request was urgent and time sensitive.
I could have been using the entire weekend to find another appropriate venue to display my art, but apparently that the volunteer who helped me cared less, was insubordinate, or failed to provide accurate...
Read moreI've been going to this gallery since I was young. Probably cause it's the only one like it that's a true gallery. They have classes there. And always have a exhibit show up in the gallery. I would really like to see some fresh young work in there. Its very baby boomer art haha. Watercolors of landscapes or grapes. Some pop art, or some good Edgy work would be a nice change from a quilt show. I love any gallery for what they do for helping the "art scene" in this town. But it's stuffy to me. I always feel like I know what I'm likely going to see. I know they have operating costs, (and are volunteer run which is awesome!) But I still feel like they charge the showing artists too much of a commission. I've taken classes here, and love it. So supporting this place is still something I try to do, because we need more classes available for everyone! Enjoy the...
Read moreLocal artists in a well thought out space. Enter through the gallery store, browse the large selection of art, ceramics, fiber, metal, wood, glass, photography, the list goes on and on. We picked up a beautiful burlwood vase, and thought the price was reasonable. The exhibit gallery was ample. Well worth visiting. Street parking and a small public lot across the street, may need to pay...
