Card Trooper Games — Local services in Richmond

NEVER BUY FROM THIS STORE. I preordered astral radiance from them back in March. When the set was released, I never received a notification that it had been shipped. I thought this may have been due to a product in my purchase that released at a later date. That product release on June 10, I waited a week and there was still no notification. I had emailed prior asking if the products hadn’t shipped due to that reason, no response and the I emailed again the week after June 10. I got no response but the shipping label was created so I thought, we’ll at least they saw it. A couple weeks go by and no update on shipping. I sent another email asking for an update and no response. Another week goes by, and I ask for an update and no response. So I call the store on July 6 and they said that someone had archived my order and it was never made. I am assuming archive means that they put it in the system as if they were not going to do the order or have already worked on it. I don’t know. They then ask if I still want my $300 order, I said yes. They said it would be shipped out the next day. I never received a notification that it was shipped, but 2 weeks later I finally got my order and half the products were damaged (I’m a sealed collector) because they put the products in the box with no protection. So after almost 2 months with poor communication from the store, them “archiving” my order and not shipping them out, for the products to then arrive damaged was just too much. Don’t deal with the hassle of ordering from them. It’s too much work to just get the stuff you spent a lot...

Was recommended by a local shop to visit here for One Piece cards and they definitely had some. Was our last day in town and glad we found this shop. From packs, starter decks, booster boxes, bulk, and singles. Found some cards needed for several of my decks and staff member was helpful.

Although they are predominantly a card shop, they had a small section of retro games which I didn't expect. There was a Gameboy Advance game I was very interested in, but they didn't have a handheld for me to test it on :(. On vacation, so I'm not expecting to carry one around. Didn't want to take the risk and spend over $100 if worse case scenario it didn't work. This doesn't effect my experience and rating because we enjoyed our time at the store. If could be tested, after seeing if it's good, I was going to pull the trigger on the purchase since I was looking for this game in local shops everywhere and didn't expect there to be games here! Only feedback I have is if you sell video games, at least for the more costly handheld games, maybe have a designated handheld console in store available for testing purposes in case someone else asks so it can be shown the product works fine?

Went in a few days ago in hopes to find some bulk trainers to fill out a deck of pokemon cards… for starters I have a half pokemon sleeve and the guy behind the counter politely asks me what I’m interested in, and I tell him about the bulk… I was just browsing the cases to see what all was offered (yu-gi-oh above the graded pokes) when the interaction started. He proceeds to tell me that I’m looking at yu-gi-oh cards and that since I’m looking at the wrong cards it would be bad… now It’s not what he said, it’s how he said it.
