This review is for Belk.com. My wife and recently stayed at a rental house for an anniversary weekend. The house was equipped with a set Biltmore pans that my wife liked a lot. After a little research, I found they were made for Belk stores. I ordered a set and received the a couple of days later.
The box the were shipped in had some slight damage on one corner of the box. Upon opening, I discovered the 11in saute pan and lid had been damaged. The lid will not fit properly on the pan and there is a small dent on the lid handle.
I immediately went online and started a chat to see if I needed to send the whole set back or if they would replace the individual pieces. I even offered to drive almost an hour to the Richmond, Ky. store to return for an exchange. He said that they would rather take care of it online. He opened a case number and said I would be contacted to see if the could just send the damaged replacement pan and lid.
I waited 6 days and heard nothing. So I called and spoke with an associate over the phone. She said that they are trying to determine if they have the damaged pan and lid or if not, they would offer a price adjustment. That it unacceptable to me because the pan that is damaged is the main pan in the set that my wife was interested in. She said someone would contact me soon.
I received the damaged item on Nov 10th. It is now the 19th. I have not yet heard ANYTHING from Belk regarding this matter. The only time I communicate with them is when I initiate it. And then, they have no answers.
I understand things get damaged but their response has been very sluggish. Poor customer service.
###Update11/20 Received a replacement pan and lid via FedEx today. Belk did make it right so I have updated my rating to reflect that. I feel as if the communication could have been better but I am happy to have my...
Read moreShopping with children at Belk is incredibly inconvenient. If you'll look at the attached photo you will see the only type of shopping cart available to Belk customers. If you'll zoom in, you'll see a sign clearly stating that you should not put children in the cart. Belk offers no carts with the capacity to hold children. Every other major store that I can think of has some sort of child seating in their carts (Meijer, Walmart, Kroger, Target, Kmart) or at least offers some sort of stroller to their customers (JC Penney, Sears). So maybe Belk isn't really a store where people are supposed to bring their children. I recognize that some stores are just not aimed at children or parents, but Belk has no less than 25% of it's floor space devoted to infants and children's clothes. Even Liqour World, which is definitely not a store aimed at children, has carts with children's seats in them. As I was shopping today I passed no less than three different sets of parents who were simply ignoring the warning sign and keeping their children in the cart. This seems dangerous to me. Belk, get your...
Read moreIf I could give them a ZERO star I would. Witnessed first hand the Saturday Manager on Duty discriminate against a disability/handicap getting assistance to try on clothing. There was no sign posted about male or female. The rooms were checked to ensure no other females where in the dressing room before husband assisted me with trying on clothes. The manager came in very condescending and said if there is a male in here you need to get out! My husband went out to tell them the situation and they had ran off. We left, called and spoke to manager on duty and she said it was me, she was so proud of her accomplishments. She cared zero for her consumers that buy items to give her a paycheck. She was on a power trip and so rude and hateful. I’m beyond disgusted with her and her attitude. I would hope in the future she learns to respect people with disabilities as she will encounter several in her lifetime. I also pray she never faces a day that she would need...
