Old National Road Welcome Center — Local services in Richmond

We were in town for the 2024 eclipse and had our pet in tow, so one of us went in to ask if they allow dogs inside. They said yes, but since the space was particularly busy with all the others traveling, they asked us to wait a bit. We did so. After a decent sized family left, we walked in and got stopped with a snarky and belittling "Is that a service animal? We understand they are a part of your family, but only allow service animals."

Then make sure you clarify that when responsible pet owners ask if dogs are allowed, especially if we ask before entering your establishment. Worst welcome to Indiana on a 9 hour road trip. I saw a sign on I-90 west in Ohio saying next rest area is in 70 miles. About 70 miles later we saw a sign saying Indiana welcome center.
