As I was headed out of the shop, an employee who worked there accused me of stealing these mango fruit snacks I had looked at. She asked me if I wanted to ring them up and gestured to a drawstring bag I was holding. I told her I didn't take them and showed her the inside of my bag. Instead of apologizing, she told me I was good and went back to the area this item was located to check the inventory. Maybe she should have done that first before assuming I had taken the item and accusing me?
The fact that she knew what item I had looked at means she was watching me closely as I browsed. I think I may have opened my drawstring bag to get or place my phone, and she assumed I placed an item in there. Her skin tone was similar to mine, but I think subconscience biases may have played a role still. Would she have been watching me this closely if my skin was lighter? I think the employees here need to check their assumptions.

Read moreI love the layout of this shop. It has a rustic, hipster, bohemian vibe to it. You can tell that they put a lot of thought into how they presented their items and seemed to be of high quality.
They have a bit of everything here so it’s a great place to buy a unique gift for someone whose hard to shop for.
