A few weeks before my anniversary I went in to get my ring resized. A young woman took it, filled out the paper work and said it would be done in a week. She said it would be 20 dollars and I could pay right there. After I paid, I left and waited for my call. A month passed and I did not hear any news so I decided to go back in. A different woman greeted me this time. I explained that I never got a call about my ring and it had been a month later. Right away she seemed defensive and said that they never make mistakes and that they must of valled. After checking her records she felt the need to point out it wasn't a month ago, but only three weeks since it had been finished and without a call. I disregarded her attitude and asked for my ring, still being kind at this point. She then looked at the paperwork and said I never paid. After back and forth I said I would find my statement and come back for a refund since I paid twice. She took my card, swiped then slammed it on the table even though my hand was out for her to put it in. I took my ring and left. Once I got home and took it put of the bag I notice there was black wax gunned in the inner sides of the ring. I did not want to drive all the way back to the store so I tried rinsing the wax of myself. After 30 minutes the wax was not coming off. So I went back, explained I would like them to clean it off. She explained that the ring was already like that. When I explain it wasnt, she changed and said it was antiquing and it was added because they thought it was already like that. Long story short the sales associate was very rude, very defensive. I don't know if it is because I look very young and she thought I did not deserve the same amount of respect as an older costumer, or if she had any prejudice over something else. Bottom line it was the least amount of respect I have ever gotten while giving a business my...
Read moreI was very nervous about the whole ring shopping idea. I had looked online for weeks and couldn't find something I liked. We walked in to SJ, and was greeted by Peggy. She asked to see a picture of what I liked and immediately showed an imagine of something that looked very similar. They had it ordered in within a week along with a potential center stone I would want. We had also shopped at another local store and my fiancé and I felt like SJ was a far better experience. I ended up choosing the ring that Peggy suggested. Thank you SJ for making this part of a wedding planning process so smooth and easy. You calmed my nerves, made me feel welcome and helped me decide on such a beautiful ring. I cannot say enough good...
Read moreWhat an incredible experience from start to finish--SJ Jewelers blew me away with how affordable, personable, and extremely efficient they were. I needed an engagement ring resized and soldered to my wedding ring (both purchased elsewhere). SJ Jewelers not only charged 1/2 to 1/3 of what other local jewelers' quoted ($78 total), they also turned it around in less than two days--others had estimated at least 1-2 weeks. They were transparent about any extra fees I might incur if stones needed to be tightened, but this did not happen. This seemingly family-run business impressed me and I would highly recommend them to anyone...
