I was in line, taking advantage of immediate post-christmas sales at a different store, when my girlfriend of fifteen years announced she would wait in Lush two stores down while I waited to pay.
Oh no, I thought...
This means I am going to spend more money. At Lush.
Not on her. On myself. I immediately sampled about ten of the buy-one-get-one sale items (another post-christmas sale opportunity) and settled on two shower gels, which I use as hand-soaps as regular handsoaps make my skin uncomfortably dry. Two new scents I had not encountered yet (perhaps not new to everyone - as mentioned, i avoid lush in order to save money, because their products are so high quality that I cannot resist them).
Cinder, which is primarily cinnamon, pumpkin seed oil and maple syrup (sweet, spiced without burning) and Ectoplasm, made of 98% nostalgia from The Real Ghostbusters Cartoon (primarily graoeefruit oil, which i cannot resist; coconut butter, the enigmatic{because I heroically refuse to look it as a fragrance element, "Litsea Cubea Oil,", and Citral. It smells fresh and clean, not overpowering but it influences the area around it with the atmosphere of intellect and honesty.
Priced at around eleven dollars with the BOGO Sale, I am putting the ''Cinder" (spicier) by the kitchen sink and the Ectoplasm by the bathroom sink because the shower gek has same general consistency as Ambrosia, the Lush shaving cream that I use regularly, which I am low on and a tub of which can run between forty and a hundred dollars depending on the amount that you are buying. I am hping that the Ectoplasm provides a similar shaving experience; I normally only us a nickel sized amount of the cream to finish with the final smoothing process after having taken most of it off with just hot water or maybe a little drop of soap if i hit a particul arly rough patch. /men tend to flinch when Itell them that that but if you use a sharp enough razor then there's hardly need any of the obscene amount of facial lubricant oroduct most men use; all of those gels, creams, foams, and oils just compensate for the fact that those expensive, impossible to clean, five-to-twelve bladed disposable monster razor heads that they have to sell under the false premise that more blades = a better shave, which just is not true; a single, sharp blade and a product like Lush's Ambrosia gives the closest shave (at least, the times I shaved myself; twice I was in a hurry for a job interview that I stopped at one of those chain men's full service barbershop I was supremely disappointed in the service, the quality and closeness of the shave, and the price; if I am paying 120 for a shave and haircut I expect a good conversation, prompt service and to be baby smooth.
And I am only able to get that good of a shave with Lush products. Very happy with my purchase today. Very satisfied with all of my Lush cosmetics, soaps, toiletries, candle... They are not usually cheap but it...
Read moreRosedale’s Lush is a treasure; it’s got a unique magic, and I’ve been coming here for years. I never would have understood what a great deal this sampler set was if they didn’t open it up and show me what was in it! The packaging is reusable+ v. cute but it was perfect that they opened it up to show me- instantly sold me when I saw what it was. I didn’t feel rushed and they even offered to go an extra mile and order what we were possibly looking for near closing time. We tested some others and an hour later, it now smells totally different on us! Like shopping smoke&mirrors! I’m surprised one I didn’t like at first is now my favorite after sitting on my arm a while. I’ll be back to pick up more soon. Friendly and social workers have always been our experience here and without (usually) the intensity of a MOA experience with rapidfire clientele coming in. This location that defines the company experience best and keeps us coming back. Even other locations out of state don’t hold a flame to this Lush location- it’s the best. I don’t expect anything from anyone in any store I go to-especially as an introvert, I’d be ok without excellent service honestly, but I do feel they genuinely enjoy being around these products and getting to play with them. I come here because it’s an experience rather than just fancy colors and shapes on shelves. These products make it more enjoyable to love the...
Read moreGabby helped me out today even though I walked in with zero plan—no pressure, just good vibes. She introduced me to a petition I ended up signing, and she explained it in a way that made me genuinely care. I also grabbed a small soap sample for my mom, and it was a nice surprise to see the QR code for the petition right on the sample bag—smart touch. I found something perfect for my budget and walked out feeling welcomed and excited to return. Great experience all around.
Edit 7/16: Sarah helped me find some soaps that my mom may like and also respected my boundaries when it came to an arm massage. I really love this location. They always respect me and my pronouns too!
Edit 7/19: it was a party up in here and everyone was dressed in 90s gear it was so fun! I had a blast making a bath bomb for my neighbor, trying to guess a lip scrub, and going through a skin care routine for my paws. Everyone was so friendly and...
