I have been coming to Jared for many years. We have purchased rings, wedding rings, bracelets, watches etc. & never had issues. Yesterday, I was humiliated & practically crawled out of there. I went in for a general cleaning of my Levian jewelry & to ask about one of the rings I was given after the passing of my Mother. I realize my ring may not be much to this older blonde sales associate, but its everything to me. (This ring is very special to our family due to my Grandparent losing it back in the 40's and recovered it years later). As always, The associate looked through the stones before starting the cleaning process- I had asked her if she had any idea about the size of the diamond as she looked at it she looks up loudly laughing saying "its so funny how the diamonds were cut back in the day". She then went on using her hands to tell me how it was cut crooked and what it should look like. It felt a bit rude but I shrugged it off. As she was walking she stated "the stone didn't seem very large, maybe a 3/4 CT or so (Maybe, if she knew how poor my old Indiana Harbor-Mill working Grandparents were, she would rethink saying a 3/4 CT anything wasn't "that big". When she handed them back I asked about what I thought could possibly be a weak spot- She stated she saw that & looked at it closely and it was not a crack! (Whew, I was happy)- She then says, " it's more like bubbles, -It wasn't made properly" I took a step back said um, ok- So its an old ring, & that's kind of rude to say don't you think? (She then can tell she offended me) & says " well maybe when it was repaired they did that- Did you just have work done to it- I said no and then once again stated how I thought her words were very unnecessary. This happened last night about 6- I thought all night and today on this thinking maybe I was being over sensitive with losing my Mother. - No, I wasn't. I have dealt years worth of great Jared people. From the goofball fun manager Mr. Guttman to my favorite sassy sales girl Catherine- I can handle words that may come off harsh-again, my family is from the Harbor Its how we were raised. Yesterdays comments were completely unnecessary.- Life is hard enough, why on earth make people feel bad like they aren't...

First off, the sales staff will do literally anything to make you buy something THAT day. They don't care about what you want or how much time you want to take to think about your purchase. They will push and push and push for you to buy it right then. They hardly try at all to find the right jewelery for you, they just try to push higher priced items.
Now about their credit card. I went in with absolutely no intention of buying anything, and no intention of opening a Jared account. I knew that down the road I would be financing my fiancee's ring, but that was to be months later. I was simply looking.
The sales staff pushed nonstop for me to open an account and buy a ring THAT day. I had to tell them no at least 10 times. The manager Mike even joined in with pressuring me to open an account. The sales women were absolutely disgusting with the clothes they were wearing. It was as if they were trying to seduce me into buying a ring with their overly low cut shirts.
Out of curiosity, I wanted to know how much I could potentially be approved for, so that I could do some budget planning for the ring later on. The sales associates assured me that when they took my information, they were simply doing a pre-approval to see how much I qualified for. At no point did I agree to open a Jared account. After being battered with more demands to open an account and buy a ring that day, I got too frustrated and left.
A week later, I get a Jared card in the mail with my name on it. The sales associates took my information and opened a Jared account without my permission. After doing some searching, I'm not even close to the only person that this has happened to. They are lying to their customers. Conning customers into opening an account is absolutely no way to do business. They will NEVER get my business again, or anyone that I know.
TL;DR: If you want to be scammed into opening accounts and non-stop pressured into buying something you don't want by rude sales associates that let their breasts hang...
Read moreI usually like this location, but I had a scheduled and confirmed inspection/cleaning appointment for today, and they decided to close early without calling/emailing me or cancelling the appointment. I arrived almost half an hour early to my scheduled time and was greeted by employees running to their cars and a paper sign on the door announcing their shortened hours. I definitely understand closing early on a holiday, but it is an expectation to notify customers who have appointments of this so that they can come early during the new hours or reschedule. Completely disregarding my scheduled appointment made this an incredibly disrespectful and rude experience.
EDIT: It will not let me reply to the response, but the confirmation number was 3549983, and the appointment was from 5:30-6 PM at the Southlake Mall location on July 4. I cancelled it at 5:12 PM, after I arrived at 5:05 PM and encountered the scene I described, so, assuming the owner is replying in good faith, perhaps the cancelled status is why they are not seeing it after the fact. I am certain I made the appointment at the correct location and time and have emails of the initial appointment confirmation, reminder at 1:03 PM day-of, and cancellation at 5:12 PM after their cancellation to prove it. I appreciate the offer to service my jewelry now, but I ended up taking it to another location this time around because of the unpleasantness of this...
