I''ve enjoyed two previous visits to Longhorn's Schererville location, each offering a delightful dining experience. Unfortunately, my recent visit to a different Longhorn for lunch with my girlfriend was less than satisfactory.
Upon entering the restaurant, I sensed things might not go well. The ambiance felt a bit outdated compared to the Schererville locale, though this wasn’t a significant issue. However, it took us an extended time to get seated, and once we settled, an unpleasant odor reminiscent of a dirty diaper permeated the air, dampening the initial atmosphere.
We kicked off our meal with the Wild West Shrimp appetizer, which arrived hot and delicious—quite promising. Regrettably, the experience spiraled downhill from that point forward. I ordered the Outlaw Ribeye, while my girlfriend chose the Lemon Garlic Chicken. Our entrees took an excessive amount of time to arrive. My steak, though cooked to the desired level, was overly fatty, and the accompanying soup or salad was never offered. It seemed futile to address this oversight once I realized it.
My girlfriend's chicken dish was a major disappointment. Resembling scraps from another plate, it was chopped into pieces and excessively dry, missing its signature grilled lemon. Upon inquiring about the lemon, we received only a terse apology and endured another ten-minute wait before it was finally provided. By then, her chicken had gone cold, significantly dampening her dining experience.
Overall, this visit was marred by slow service, lackluster dishes, and an unpleasant atmosphere. Sadly, I cannot recommend this location to others based on my...
Read moreThe food was ok but the service was the worst I've experienced ever at ANY restaurant. We were seated , after 10 minutes our server greeted us and we ordered. We didn't have any silverware and told her. We waited another 10 minutes and out appetizer arrived. Still no silverware or plates. We reminded her and two other people. Finally, we got silverware. No plates yet! We reminded our server and she informed us that all the plates were being used and none were available. Trying to be patient, I waited. Finally having enough, I approached the manager and described the situation. The manager searched and eventually found us some plates. I informed her that I wasn't going to eat my appetizer cold, it had been sitting there 10 minutes with no plates. She offered to replace them. In another 10 mins, our salads and steaks arrived before our appetizer. My wife and I continued eating, curious to see what if any consideration would be given us for our terrible experience. Not only did nobody seemed concerned with our terrible service and try to honestly explain , they didn't even give us any consideration on the bill I was so upset that I only tipped $10 on an $88 bill I always tip a minimum of 20% for adequate service up to 25 or 30% for good service. The tip isn't given for nothing, it actually has to be earned. Systemic failure by entire staff. No concern for us as customers. I expect to hear from manager on this review or I'll never go back. I loved this place before. Well see if anybody cares enough to...
Read moreThey ruined my Birthday dinner and upset me. The food was ordered to go. Pick up time was 7:30. Sat in my car for approximately 20 mins. after checking in at spot #5. Called. Got put on hold and then hung up on. Had to get out of the car and go in only to see my food sitting behind the girl taking orders and given a rude comment. No manager, both managers, could not be found by staff for almost 8-10 minutes. Allegedly they Both were "taking out the trash". The girl taking orders and no other staff person could give me a discount for my inconvenience so I was further inconvenienced by having to wait. I didn't end up eating dinner til after 8:20pm with my family and the food was cold, the steak was cooked almost well done, with white grease sitting on the top of it, and that's disgusting. If I wasn't so tired I would have returned all of their nasty food. The salad was wilted and the cake we ordered was smashed. All in all, I paid a lot of money to be treated like trash on my birthday...a birthday that I will never forget. Not everyone can go sit in a restaurant when you're caring for sick loved ones. Think twice about ordering to go from here and check your food before you leave. Longhorn did reach out to me and offered me a gift card but it still doesn't help the memories of my ruined...
