The shoes sales lady, Kelly, was phenomenal! She is kind, patient with all of my requests and questions, and very knowledgeable. It's rare to find associates like her that go above and beyond, she's clearly one of the best associates in the department. I think the other shoes associates should take note on her outstanding customer service skills and that leads me to my three star rating.
I was shopping on Saturday afternoon and there were very little sales associates on the floor. I went to the back room to see if someone could help and an older sales lady said someone will be out to which I understand things could get hectic on a busy sales day but there were six people waiting. I began to walk away to rely the information to the other customers waiting and I heard a male voice say quite rudely, "Can't you see we're busy, lady? No, I'm not putting you at a priority just because you come back here, you're going to wait along with everyone else." He didn't even wait until I was out of earshot and I witnessed this gentleman being rude to customers on multiple occasions but I asked nicely and when I went back there, I saw this gentleman with a mask on playing on his phone so he clearly wasn't busy.
Kelly was the only one out on the floor for the duration of the time I was there and was the ONLY sales lady who approached us and asked if we needed help. . She rang on the register, assisted customers and even took time to make conversation, she is a super hero! And the time she was doing this the gentleman yelled at customers on the floor. I heard him snap at someone else waiting and yelled at them to hold on he'll be right with them. It's uncalled for and if he hates his job so much he can leave and look for a new job
I hope the executives will see this review and recognize Kelly for her efforts in taking on such a hectic Saturday afternoon with kindness and grace. Macy's is lucky to have her and I will be a returning customer as long as she's there!

Read moreThe main reason for 2 stars is the customer service in this particular Macyâs. Otherwise they have a great selection and clean store. I have had numerous bad experiences with staff here, particularly in the registry department. I find it ridiculous that there is not better service in a department where people are going to be spending thousands of dollars. I have written a review about my first experience already but here is my second. Upon bringing some items into the store that were gifted to me at my bridal shower that needed exchanged, I was treated like a criminal and put down multiple times. The first exchange was for a knife set that the block came in damaged. Because the person who bought this did not get it off the registry in an effort to surprise me, I was told by the clerk at Macyâs that the person who bought this for me âreally screwed me.â For this reason she would only offer me lowest sale price for the item. I was extremely thrown off as I didnât want money back and I wanted to exchange it for the same product just not damaged. Due to my frustration I took the damage product back and told the clerk never mind. I gave her my second exchange which was delivered to me with missing parts. I wanted another one, but it was an online only product. The clerk told me it was no longer available for order, then lectured me about why picking online items for a registry is always a gamble and I shouldnât have done that.... so I take the gift card for that product and leave. I go home and see that that product was available online and could have been ordered. The clerks name was Mary. I will never recommend any of my friends to use this store for their registry. They should make brides feel special and not...

But as anyone who's shopped there over the decades can tell you it has changed as more upscale/expensive stores have moved in. I still enjoy seeing it decorated for the holidays, browsing, or picking up something from the dwindling food court options, and do most of my shopping at more affordable stores like Kohl's.
However I must say the holiday sales at Macy's, either Black Friday or the Friends and Family sale, have caught my attention the last couple years. Last year I picked up some cologne from their sizable fragrance department. One lady claimed they didn't have any open bottles for sample sprays at her station and didn't seem willing to make another available to try, so I moved on. The second was be try friendly and took me all around to anything I was curious about, and I left with two different bottles. This year I was in the market for new winter wear, something waterproof and warm. I ended up with a Tommy Hilfiger jacket and a Calvin Klein coat. Both together would normally have been $375, too much for me. But one sale just $140 saving me $235! The store is spacious and usually better organized than other clothing outlets with things thrown everywhere after aggressive shoppers...
