Plaza Azteca Ross Park Mall — Restaurant in Ross Township

I am so happy Plaza Azteca has opened at Ross Park Mall. It's a great addition to the North Hills. This location is vibrant and trendy. The staff were attentive and friendly. Our food was fresh, hot and most importantly flavorful. Service was a little slow but I agree with some other recent reviews, I believe that was just because the staff is still getting into the groove of a newly opened restaurant. We tried the Taquitos Mexicanos, which were crispy and loaded with flavor. Just excellent. I had the Enchiladas Suizas. They were so good. The tomatillo sauce was velvety and rich. The side of rice was fluffy and a yummy accompaniment. My Mom tried the Enchiladas Poblanas. They were topped with a decadent, sweet and spicy mole sauce. Sweet plantains were served on the side. They were very good. My son had Mac and Cheese with French Fries and there were no complaints from him. I will definitely visit Plaza Azteca at Ross Park Mall again. The food was fantastic! I got the fajita burritos which were generously portioned and came with rice and beans and everything was well seasoned, well cooked, well presented, and across the board delicious. My wife got the steak fajitas and I have to say they were the most savory and flavorful fajitas that I can ever recall enjoying. We also got the cheese dip (a must), and the tableside guac. It's a fun experience to see them make it on the little mobile cart, and more importantly you get to customize exactly what you want in it. We did onions, cilantro, lime, salt (no tomatoes, no jalapeños) . Ours needed a lot more salt after it was finished, but it was easy enough to salt to taste. Our server was not the most attentive, but it wasn't a problem because the food was served in a timely manner and we were enjoying the meal and didn't need much anyway. Atmosphere- 5 stars- Plaza Azteca at Ross Park Mall offers a welcoming and festive atmosphere that blends traditional Mexican culture with a modern dining experience. I especially loved the murals which were a playful nod to the Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), celebrating life, memory, and culture with a colorful twist. These murals feature calaveras—skeletons dressed in lively outfits, wearing sombreros, playing instruments, dancing, or sharing a meal. Overall this was a beautiful restaurant, very clean and inviting.

Service- 4 stars- our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Great job!

Food- 4 stars- We loved the food here especially the Chicken Tacos- one the tastiest seasoned chicken taco I have ever had. The menu offers a large variety of Mexican favorites as well as table side guacamole service. Definitely a must if you need a break...
