My son is in a wedding this weekend (June 2,2024) which is out of town. He went to Men's Wearhouse in Round Rock on March 17,2024 to get fitted for the tux along with several other groomsmen. They were told their tux would be ready for pick up today, Thursday May 30th. When the groom called earlier this week to check on the status of the Tuxes he was informed that 2 of the groomsmen that were fitted in Round Rock wouldn't be able to pick up their suits til noon on Saturday. Remember the wedding is out of town. Not far but a 2 hr drive. Everyone in the wedding is heading out on Friday afternoon. Mens Wearhouse was reminded the date and time of the wedding. They said check back Sat. Well luckily the suits made it in today. Great!! No more stressing. All should be good. Well when my son went in to pick his up they told him he owed more moneyđ€. He informed them he paid in full at the time of the fitting. The employee then lied to my son and said "they" meaning the bride and groom added more to the Tuxes. He was shocked. They said you owe another $30 bucks. He already paid $244.00 TO RENT NOT BUY JUST RENT THIS TUX đ€Ź Now their saying he owes more due to items being added to the tux!?! So my son payes. Then he finds out he needs a light brown belt. Mens Wearhouse has them for $65 bucks. So once again he's pulling out his credit card. đ€ I messaged my sister n law and told her about the additional charges my son had to pay for and she responded "ABSOLUTELY NOT!!" Neither the bride or groom added anything to the Tuxes. She said they tried to add a $30 "RUSH DELIVERY" fee to a few of the other groomsmen that were fitted at a different Men's Wearhouse. But the employee waved it because she thought that wasn't right. YOU THINK!! Heck no it isn't right. So I look at my son's receipt and yup they are charging him $30 rush delivery feeđĄ Rush delivery.!?!??! He was fitted over 2 months ago. The fine print states if you order less then 14 days prior to the event or make changes less then 14 days prior to the event you will be charged a RUSH DELIVERY FEE. I get it. Less then 14 days doesn't give a lot of time for alterations . But as of Tuesday these guys weren't even going to have the Tuxes they were fitted for over 2 months ago by the date Men's Wearhouse promised them. Now they are trying to slide in a phony charge. The employees can tell when these guys were fitted and when money was paid for the Tuxes. This is a scam and a way to get an additional $30 bucks out of these young guys. I now want to go back to the 3 years my son rented a tux from them for prom and see if they scammed me/my son then as well. This is not ok. This is dishonest and stealing. The prices to simply rent one of their tuxedos is already astronomically high, but to now know they are lying to the customers and saying there were additional items added to the Tuxes is down right despicable. On top of that my son paid $244.56 but they inputted $243.56 when charging for the frivolous rush delivery fee causing him to owe an additional $1.00. May not sound like much. Oh it's just a dollar. Well if they do this to every customer, that dollar makes Mens Wearhouse several extra thousands a year. Not ok with...
Read moreLet me first say, I really hate shopping for clothing, it's expensive, the number of options is overwhelming, and I never really look good. Due to some discussions with colleagues, I made a conscious choice to start dressing my part as a startup executive rather than a code monkey. Last year, I went to this store, Men's Wearhouse in Round Rock, to buy a new business outfit. The associate did a great job in doing what I asked, helping me pick out some shirts that fit better. The clearance rack as some Egara shirts that caught my eye and I was off buying Egara shirts on clearance deals online for a few months. I clearly like to save money and the Egara shirts have gotten many compliments, so win win!
Since then I have lost a ton of weight. Literally 25% of my body mass. As you can imagine, my perfect fit was less than perfect. Originally, I was going to just use Stitch Fixe since it seemed they would solve the problem with little hassle, but the last time I did a mail order box of clothes I just got a bunch of stuff that was so expensive I couldn't justify it. I remembered my last experience at Men's Wearhouse so I thought, "last time wasn't so bad, let me just drop by and see if I can get this over with."
Walking in the door, I was greeted by two associates. In a time when most stores do little to make you feel welcome, I instantly felt more at ease. A very stylish man, Sam, came up shook my hand. Little did I know that over the next hour, I was going to experience the true value of a fashion consultant. Sam asked me a few questions, ascertained that I wanted a pair of pants and a few shirts. He quickly measured me and showed me how different shirts would feel and took me over to the rack to help pick something out.
Over the hour we talked about trends away from all black business wear, interesting but I'm still not comfortable with brown shoes and dark pants. We tried on probably a dozen garments, even ascertained that my beloved Egara shirts didn't fit as well anymore and going to neck and collar measurements would do me better. We worked through classic and modern pant styles, classic was too baggy but modern wasn't perfect in the thighs but a half size up and BOOM it was magic. I didn't feel pressured or overwhelmed at any point. Many business folks say that your clothing is like your armor, it helps present yourself to the world on your terms with confidence. I walked out of that store feeling like a new person, imbued with clothing I felt will help me conquer the boardroom.
When I encounter such wonderful service, I want to go out of my way to appreciate it. I never met Sam before and I took his business card to make sure I had an appointment with him next time I buy clothing. Sam was such a cool cat, even when another associate was a jerk to him while trying to get a computer to check out, he took it in stride. It made me want to elevate Sam's performance. Now I only have one negative thing to say about Sam. While my wife did say, "Wow you look good" and I truly feel more confidence as I fly to this board meeting, I PAID $400 FOR AN OUTFIT 0_0. Ah well, time to learn a new habit and keep watching those...
Read moreMy husband needed a suit for our wedding so we came in and asked if a custom suit would be possible in that time or if it would be better to get a suit off the rack and have it altered. We were told it should not be a problem and that we should rather have a custom tailored suit. They took my husbands measurements and my husband told them exactly what he was looking for. We came back when the suit was supposed to be ready. The suit looked like a parachute on him and was at least 3 sizes too big and waaay too long. We were told they did this on purpose so there's enough room for alterations. I myself worked in design long enough to know you do NOT leave THIS much material and the suit should be very close to his actual size. We ended up having to come back 4 or 5 times because the suit never looked the way it was supposed to. What really threw me off was that the guy we were working with actually tried to shut up my husband when he wanted to tell the tailor what he wanted. "Just let him do his thing!" He said. Very unprofessional. Wrinkles, missing buttons, uneven parts...we had it all! He then told us we could come back AFTER the wedding to get the suit done. This absolutely blew my mind! I felt so bad for my husband! It is not only the brides day and the groom needs to be able to feel confident and handsome too! The last two times we spoke to Steve who was very understanding. He himself told us if it was up to him he would re do the whole suit. Unfortunately, this was about 4 days before our wedding. We spend well over 1k on this suit and it was not perfect. We know very well how a suit is supposed to fit and looking at the results we could've easily been better off with getting a suit off the rack. Even without altering it. Thanks to Steve and the tailor who gave everything on the last day (this was NOT the tailor we worked with previously)! They both did what they could to make my husbands suit look good last minute. I would recommend ONLY working with Steve for customized suits. Funny thing is, even the guy we worked with said this after we already paid and had the suit. Would've been nice to know BEFORE making this experience. Overall, my husband looked very handsome on our wedding day but the suit does not look like it was made specifically for him. Thank you Steve, for saving what you could! And thanks to the very nice tailor whos name I...
