As someone in the medical field with very high expectations of providers in general, I am blown away at each and every appointment. This has compelled me to share my review today. Like many, I have a history of terrible dental experiences, and anxiety about seeing the dentist in general. The care and consideration that Dr. Hyson and his team provides, is top notch. Marisa has been my hygienist from the start, and I request her each time. She's kind, patient, and down to earth. To me, this is important. She happily offers suggestions, when asked, offers reassurance when needed, and comfort when necessary. Dr. Hyson, himself, is nothing short of a dental magician. He's thorough, thoughtful, intentional, and authentic. You are not his next appointment on the calendar that day, you are his patient and he genuinely cares. The bedside manner of he and his staff is an obvious priority for them, and they do it well. They remember my story, my preferences, and show genuine interest. They take their time to ensure you feel comfortable, informed, educated, and reassured. Although I've named Dr. Hyson and Marisa specifically, for all the care they've provided me, I can assure you that each and every staff that I've seen, has offered just as much. This is the worst dentist. First of all, there were loud kids everywhere. It was so overwhelming and confusing. I don't even think the staff knew what was going on. It was loud and crazed. Definitely not a calming dental experience. Second, upon exam, They did an x-ray, and they told me I had 3 cavities, that "my other dentist must have been watching". Although they would not tell me where in my mouth they were. Which I found concerning. I went to this dentist because it was closer to my work, and figured for one cleaning, I'd give it a try. My original dentist that I've been going to for years and get a cleaning from every 4 months, has never mentioned anything about a cavity. So I finished my appointment and left. I quickly made another appointment with my normal original dentist and asked them to exam me, since I was concerned about these "cavities". Upon exam, they found I have NO cavities. They looked at the x-ray done from Roxbury Family Dentistry and still saw nothing there. I just went back 2 days ago, for my next 4 month appointment, and still ... no cavities. They hygienist also told me that she had another patient that Roxbury Family Dentistry said their kid had 7 cavities, and like me, went to get a second opinion, and yep....no cavities. I was apprehensive walking into office since we’ve just moved in the area and I was not sure what to expect. I’ve read reviews regarding West Morris Dental in Succasunna and all reviews were positive. From the moment we walked in the office we noticed how friendly and accommodating the receptionists were and they even knew my name already. The office was very nice and clean and we knew right there and then that we made right decision of coming here. Bernice came out and introduced herself very nice friendly and polite and led us to the room. She asked the right questions what brought us there and specially what bothered me the most. I told her pain specially on one specific tooth in short she took xray. Dr. John Thewes was very nice and explained to me the best way to correct and fix the problem with best result. We appreciate his honesty and professionalism. Dr Thewes calmed my nerves and assured me everything will be alright. We chatted for few minutes more and that made my apprehension go away.
