Read moreWe enjoyed this place a lot. We can see the inside of the gold coast , which has a crew cabin, dining hall, kitchen and sleeping room. The tour guide is also available at certain hours. The entrance is $12 for adults and $6 for kids ages 5-17. The upper floor has toy trains and miniature trains starting from zero scale O scale. Watching the train running through mini stations was very good. The dining cabin has dining sets from different railroads. The kitchen cabin shakes, which gave us real time experience. There is a toy train repair service every Friday 10- noon. We couldn't go on train excursions as they stopped the services until the new year. But they do have different services starting from next month until the end of the year. The staff are very friendly. This museum is very...

The Sacramento Southern Railroad is a 50 minute excursion train ride from The California State Railroad Museum located in Old Sacramento, Sacramento California.
This morning I caught up with the train shortly after it pulled out of the station and it was traveling near the Embassy Suites Hotel along the Sacramento River.
The route takes you along the Sacramento River, you can sit in an open car or and enclosed car, the views of the river and wildlife are beautiful.
Do yourself a favor and check the Sacramento Southern Railroad Excursion out, you wl not be disappointed!
